(Kwazii's pov)
I've named the kitten saber, I can't wait to tell me best friend and crewmate, about that time my best friend came out of the Octo-shoot "kwazii, we need to talk about something" barnacles said, yeah me captain and I are close, we may be competitive with each other but that doesn't change it "ahoy matey" I greeted him, "what did you need to ask about?" I asked, "it's about your kitten actually" barnacles replied, "oh, that reminds me her name is saber now" I revealed to him, "saber huh? How'd you come up with that" he said, "I was just trying to think of a name for her and I just said saber out loud and she got really excited about it" I explained, "I see, alright I wanted to ask you about saber then" he told me, I wonder what he's talking about
"What is it captain?" I asked, I'm kinda worried about what he's going to say "it's nothing bad, I'm just not sure how you're going to take care of a kitten when you're basically a kitten yourself" the captain explained, "captain, I know I'm irresponsible at the best of times but I'm really serious about this" I told him, I can't believe I'm about to say this but here goes nothing "and I know I just found her but I-" i started hesitantly, "you what?" Barnacles asked, while I'll be a sea monkeys uncle I'm actually nervous for the first time in a long time
"I can't explain it but I feel a connection with saber, I love her like she's me own" I told him, I can't believe how hard that was to say "mm" the captain hummed thinking of what to say, to me relief tunip came on the radio chirping about something, and Shellington popped in front of him "that means dinner is ready" he informs us, "understood Shellington, we're on our way" barnacles said, "we'll be there in no time" I said as the call ended, "come on saber" I urged her, she jumped up on top of me head again and off we went down the octo-shoot with the captain close behind us
Once we were in the hallway I turned to him "wanna race?" I asked, "your on" he said confidently, I ran down one side of the hall and somersaulted off the wall, barnacles was right behind me and gaining, he's pretty fast, we both got to the kitchen at the same time
"I guess it's a tie" barnacles said with a laugh and a smile, "yeah, who knew polar bears were as fast as a pirate" I remarked, everyone just laughed "were you two racing again?" Professor inkling asked, and if I'm not mistaken gave the captain a "you know what" look
