chapter one: (part 3) finding saber

(Barnacles pov)
I don't know how kwazii is going to take care of a kitten he's basically a kitten himself "on me honor as an octonaut I promise to protect her and take care of her" I keep thinking about the way he said that for as long as I've known him I've never heard him speak so sternly "captain captain, can you hear me captain" dashi called out to me braking me away from my thoughts, "what is it, dashi?" I asked, I was sitting at the table in the HQ dashi and peso were just standing there staring at me "are you alright captain, you were kinda spaced out for a moment there" peso asked concerned placing his flipper on my forehead, "I'm fine peso just a little lost in thought is all" I reassured him, "uh...captain you never do that" Shellington said worried, "I know I don't normally, just got a lot on my mind right now" I explained, "captain can I talk to you in the library?" Inkling asked, "why yes Professor, lead the way" I said standing up, I followed inkling into the library "captain what exactly did you mean by you have a lot on your mind?" He questioned, so this is why he wanted to talk privately "I've just been thinking about what kwazii said about that kitten, he's never that serious, it's almost like that kitten has just made something click in him" I explained, "mm, yes kwazii does seem to have taken a liking to his little friend hasn't he" the professor said, "I mean I'm glad he found her when he did because if he hadn't who knows what would've happened to her, he's just acting so different to how he normally does, you know?" I said, "captain I know kwazii gets on your nerves sometimes but I know you two are close friends and yes kwazii is acting differently but we've never seen him around a kid before" inkling said, "mm, you're right we haven't, I guess I'm just not used to kwazii being responsible" I told him, inkling placed his tentacle on my shoulder "exactly, maybe you and kwazii should have a talk about this" the Professor said, he's right I should talk to kwazii about this

(Kwazii's pov)
I give the kitten it's bottle and it started to eat, "I guess you were really hungry" I said with a laugh, "now you just need a name" I thought out loud, "uhmm....saber" I said for no real reason while pacing in my room, the kitten started to mew to me and get excited "you like the ring of that two huh?" I asked, the kitten only got more excited by this "alright, saber it is" I can't wait to tell my best friend about this
