chapter ten: (part 1) saber and the long-arm squid

(Saber's pov)
This cave is bigger than I thought *creepy moaning sounds* that noise again! I have to find this creature, "mm, which way now?" I questioned outloud, I felt something touch my tail "YEOW" I shouted, I turned around to see my three aunts and peso penguin, "did you have to do that?" I scolded, "sorry, we lost contact with you and wanted to make sure you were okay" peace explained, "speaking of which, how are you feeling? Do you feel dizzy? Confused?" Peso asked as he proceeded to check me out in a medic type way, "I'm fine peso, I'm trying to track down the source of this noise I keep hearing" I replied, "what kind of noise?" Ocean asked, *creepy moaning sounds* "that's the noise" I said as peso hid behind me, "I don't know what that noise is but I'm going to find out" I remarked confidently, me peace Kateleen ocean and peso started swimming in the direction we thought the noise was coming from, I hope we can find whatever it is soon

(Kwazii's pov)
"I don't think saber-" I started, I was cut off by the captain pulling me behind a rock, "what's the big idea?" I asked, "sharks, we best move out of the area" barnacles explained, he's right, peso went with me sisters we don't need to get hurt when we're by ourselves "aye, let's go back to the sea cave to see if the others have found saber yet" I responded, "good idea, come on this way" the captain ordered, I followed him, I hope Saber's okay she's a hearty little kitten but that doesn't stop me from worrying about her

(Saber's pov)
I'm starting to get really concerned for this creature, the more I hear the noise the more it sounds like it's in trouble, sea caves are pretty easy to navigate if you ask me but not everyone has the best sense of direction, Shellington got lost in a cave looking for Remipedes once more over kwazii was lost at sea when he got carried away by a cyclonic waterspout, it seems that me the captain and dashi are the best navigators but everyone aboard the octopod has their own special talent that helps sea creatures in some way, inkling choose all 8 original octonauts because he felt they all had something special to offer, captain barnacles was a cargo ship captain before the octonauts not to forget how strong and brave he is it made him pretty much purr-fect for the job, kwazii was initially found injured and unconscious in the middle of the ocean but become part of the crew after him and barnacles grew quite close

Peso always wanted to be a medic  and was fresh out of medical school when Professor inkling asked him to be apart of the octonauts, Shellington was working in a lab when inkling had him come out to study sea life and he liked it so much he decided to stay, dashi used to be a receptionist at a hotel but her dream had always been to be a professional photographer and inkling needed someone to document any new creatures the octonauts discovered, tweak was actually a suggestion from the captain as they worked on the same cargo ship together for years and he knew she was a extremely talented engineer and inventor so she was kinda a no-brainier

The Vegimals were discovered by Shellington when he was researching a newly discovered coral reef in shark infested waters they were only eggs at the time and wouldn't have survived on their own so Shellington brought them back to the octopod and basically raised them and they surprised everyone with everything they could do from cooking to helping fix the gups to gardening and really just helping with whatever needs doing around the octopod, they're a big help on missions too

if Shellington hadn't found the Vegimals that day I don't know where the octonauts would be without them, I don't know where anyone of the octonauts would be without inkling, most importantly I don't know where the ocean would be without the octonauts, just like our slogan says it's our mission to explore rescue and protect the oceans of the world and the creatures that inhabit them and we don't plan on stopping anytime soon
