chapter two: (part 4) my first rescue

(Continuation of the second part of this chapter)

(Saber's pov)
"Oh no" I gasped, there's kwazii out cold and his helmet isn't on, I swam to him as fast as I could "kwazii kwazii, wake up" I said trying to get his helmet working, "aw fish sticks, it's jammed" I exclaimed, I looked around to see that his tail was stuck under a piece of wood from the front of the ship, I have the purr-fect gup for the job but how did this happen in the first place?

No time to think about that now, I don't know how much air kwazii has left, I need to get him to the surface, I swam back to the gup-D quickly and noticed someone had taken an interest in my ship "swordfish" I exclaimed, they stopped shoving the gup and swam at me, I moved to the side to dodge the swordfish "i don't have time for a sword fight I have to-" I was cut off, "help me help me" one of the three swordfish had his sword stuck under the ship's anchor I swam towards him but his two friends shot in front of me "hey back off" one of them said, "yeah, stay away from our friend" said the other, "it's okay I don't want to hurt him, I'm an octonaut I'm here to help" I assured them, "really?" One of them said suspicious of me, I saw Orange fur out of the corner of my eye "listen, I don't have much time so let me help your friend and me and my dad will get out of here and leave you be" I explained to them, "wait, that guy is your dad?" Asked the swordfish whose sword was stuck, "yeah, and he's in danger of drowning if I don't do something fast" I told him, "I'm sorry I knocked him out, us swordfish tend to be protective of our feeding grounds (I couldn't find anything saying that this was true so just pretend it is), guys let her help me and then we need to help her save her dad" he said, the other swordfish looked at their friend and then looked at me "okay, we'll cooperate" one of them finally said, "yeah we will, now please help our friend" the other begged, "it's my job to help any sea creature that's in trouble" I told them, "wow, you have a cool job" a little sea urchin told me "why thank you" I said with a smile, I started to pull on the swordfish's sword and eventually got him free "thanks, now to help you and your dad" he said, "yeah, just say the word" another said, "we'll follow your orders" the last one chimed in, I swam back towards the gup-D and got in the driver's seat "alright, I'm going to move that plank off his tail, as soon as I do I want one of you to take him to the surface as fast as you can" I ordered, I feel like captain barnacles right about now, I moved the gup closer to kwazii and activated the crab-like-claw and moved the plank of wood off Kwazii's tail and as soon as I did that one of the swordfish took kwazii to the surface, I hope he's okay

I surfaced with the gup and pulled kwazii on to it, he started coughing, at least he's awake but he needs peso, I have no choice, I have to sound the octo-alert "octonauts to the lunch bay, i have a injured swordfish and kwazii needs a medic stat" I said, the swordfish that I helped had hurt his sword "I need you three to follow me back to the octo-" I paused, "where'd your other friend go?" I questioned, at that time the 3rd swordfish revealed himself, he had pushed the gup-B to the surface "figured you'd need this" he said, "thanks" I put kwazii in the driver's seat of the gup-D and attached the gup-B's tow line (just pretend it has one for the sake of the story)

"now I need you three to follow me" I said as I hopped in the gup-B, "we're right behind you" one of them said, "yeah, lead the way" said the other "let's go" said the one with the injured sword, we all flew through the water to the octopod, I don't know how bad dad's condition is so I need to get him back ASAP

(Back at the octopod)

Peso took kwazii to the sick bay well me and the rest of the crew waited in the lunch bay, barnacles started towards me, oh boy, here we go "saber, you had us all very worried" he said, "I'm sorry" I apologized, "hey little dude don't apologize" said the injured swordfish, "you saved both me and your dad and he wouldn't be here if you hadn't come along" the swordfish reassured me, "he's right" peso said walking up to us, "if you hadn't have gone after kwazii he most definitely would have drowned" he said, just hearing those words made my heart sink like a capsized ship, I already lost whatever biological family I had before kwazii found me and I'm not about to lose him the same way I lost them "how is he?" I questioned holding back my emotions and afraid of the answer I may be about get but I have to know,

"He's going to be okay, but he needs rest to recover" peso responded, my ears perked up as he said this "good, I'm not about to lose him the same way I lost whatever biological family I might've had" I said almost crying, the whole crew looked at me, they're faces saddened by what I just said "why don't you go see him, saber?" The captain said, I looked at peso "can I?" I asked the penguin, "sure, I think it'll do both of you some good, in the mien time I'm going to take care of the swordfish" he said, "thanks again for helping me" the injured swordfish said, "just doing me job as an octonaut" I said, "I'm very proud of you saber, you not only saved the swordfish but you saved Kwazii's life, you really are one of the most valuable members of the crew" captain barnacles told me, "thanks captain" I said hugging him, I started towards the sick bay, I can't wait to see my dad

(Kwazii's pov)
I woke up in the sick bay, how did I get back to the octopod? All I remember was going to the shipwreck and everything went dark and then I woke up to Saber's voice...actually better question where is saber I remember hearing her voice before passing out again, just as I thought that saber walked in the room "you okay, dad?" She asked, "yeah...I think so at least, how did I get back to the octopod?" I questioned her, and boy I didn't expect the answer I got

"so, you left to find me?" I asked, "yeah, I didn't want to lose you the same way I lost whatever biological family I might've had" she said, that brought tears to my eyes, she almost lost me the same way she did whoever her biological family was, she started crying "I'm sorry" she snifflled whipping tears from her eyes, "don't be sorry me little treasure, I'm proud of you" I said placing her in my lap, "you saved the swordfish and you saved my life, your the best treasure I've ever found" I told her, "really daddy?" She asked though her tears, "absolutely" I said, she hugged me tightly, I never want to scare my little girl like that ever again, I can't believe I'm about to say this...but I need to be more careful, I have a daughter who needs me, turns out I need her too, we both need each other
