(Chloe's pov)
I was walking along with the octonuats, lost in thought as they were as excited as ever to be exploring an undiscovered island. I noticed saber holding some kind of device in her paws "what's that?" I asked, pointing to the strange object "it's called a digital mapping system or DMS for short, tweak made it for me, I'm using it to create a map of the island as we go along" she explained, "aye, captain barnacles made saber our navigator for a reason" kwazii added, sounding quite proud of his daughter, which brings me to my next question "saber do you have a mother?" Saber's ears flattened to her head "I don't know" she replied saddened, "oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset you" I apologized, "don't be sorry, you didn't know" she spoke, accepting the apology with a forced smile "don't worry, I've said it once I'll say it a million times, you're the best treasure I've ever found" kwazii smiled, wrapping an arm around saber "we love you too saber" the twins exclaimed in unison, running up and hugging Saber's waist "aw, thanks mateys" saber mewed, "you'll always have a family at the octopod, remember that" kwazii added, saber nodded and hugged her dad tightly
Suddenly we heard twigs snapping and bushes rustling "what was that?" River asked, hiding behind his sister in fear "I don't know" kwazii responded, "it's probably an animal or maybe someone lives here who knows we've found stranger things, best stay close together safety in numbers and all that" saber explained, resting a paw on a sheathed sword attached to her waist belt whilst squinting her eyes and giving kwazii a serious look "aye" he responded, matching sabers expression and placing his paw on his sword handle, at the ready to pull it out, why did I agree to come here?
(Kwazii's pov)
We continued our walk, saber leading the way while I trialled behind keeping chloe and the twins between us for protection, I knew saber and I brought our swords for a reason. Pressing onwards in silence keeping my ears on a swivel for any noise, when all at once "help" that didn't sound good "what do we do?" Chloe gasped, "stay calm, just follow me" saber explained, turning to walk towards the sound, ears twitching at attention, me little kit bravely marched forward until finally coming up to the noise "totem" chloe gasped, running to her all white brother "chloe, are you alright?" Totem asked, "yes, are you?" Chloe responded, totem shook his head earning a gasp from river, who particularly teleported next to him "where does it hurt?" River asked, before totem could answer, a dark red cat and a brown bulldog appeared from the brush
