chapter sixteen: (part 2) lost and found

(Saber's pov)
The captain and I were cruising along the ice in the gup-S, a ship I've never actually driven before "good driving saber, you're just as good as your dad and he's the best driver on the octopod" the captain praised, "aw thanks CB, I suppose I owe it to kwazii as he did teach me" I said happily with a smile, I was setting in the pilot's seat and the captain was standing next to me, just then a call came through our radio

(Kwazii's pov)
I was waltzing around the HQ without much of a purpose, the captain left me in charge well he's out with saber, I would've of loved to go with them but it's just too cold for me "kwazii, I've got a call coming in from the captain" me teenage sister ocean informed me, besides inkling tweak and the Vegimals, it's mostly cats abroad the octopod, just then the captain and me daughter appeared on the screen "how's things at the octopod kwazii?" The captain asked as Saber's forward focused gaze turned to a happy expression and a friendly wave,
"Tis pretty calm here captain, how's you're exploration coming along?" I responded, "it'd be going as smooth as the ice we're on" saber laughed, I smiled, I love seeing my little treasure happy away exploring

Then the gup started to shake and there was a large cracking sound "captain saber what's going on?" I asked frantically, but before the captain could answer the radio went fuzzy and the call was cut short "yeow, ocean sound the octo-alert" I ordered turning to me spotted sister, she nodded and hit the alarm with her paw "octonauts to the HQ" I exclaimed, me youngin and brother are in trouble 

(Barnacles's pov)
The gup-S started to shake "ice cazum" saber yelled, "the ice is cracking underneath us, saber abandon ship now" I ordered, the gup-S started to fall before I  could jump out, saber mange to grab on to the edge and dug her claws into the ice "captain jump" she yelled, I don't want to hurt her but I have no choice, I grabbed Saber's tail and looked down as the gup-S plunged to the bottom of the newly formed canyon, saber attempted to lift herself and me up "captain I'm not strong enough to lift us both, use me to climb up" saber ordered, I nodded in response and climbed over Saber's back

I keeled down by the edge and pulled saber up by her paw "thanks, are you alright?" Saber asked sitting next to me "I am thanks to you but I don't think the gup-S is" I explained as we both stared down at the wreckage, "that was way too close matey" saber sighed relieved as she stood, "I better contact the-oh" I started pulling my compass out of my book bag, "what's wrong?" Saber asked with confused concern, "my octo-compass is frozen, I can't even sound the octo-alert" I explained sadly as I tried doing so, "guess we'd better start walking" saber said solmy as she turned away from me, "we're just gonna have to walk around and try to find our way back to the octopod" she said looking back after walking in front of me slightly, "say, you wouldn't happen to have a notebook and pencil in your bag would you?" She asked, "um...sure...but why?" I asked confused as I pulled out a red notebook and pencil and handed them to her, saber placed the notebook on the snow and started to draw on one of it's pages "this is the anarchic, the octopod is stationed under some pack ice, only problem is I don't know where we are" saber mewed, that's when it hit me, she's trying to make a map

"This is why I made you our navigator, you can draw your own map and still get us to where we want to go" I remarked happily, saber smiled "aye captain, we'd best get moving if we don't want to be stuck out here after dark" she replied, "agreed, saber let's do this" I said in a confident tone, which saber nodded in response to and we started walking, I know the rest of the octonauts well come searching for us, I just hope they can find us.
