J U L I A N
Going to camp was actually more fun than I could have ever imagined. Anyways, play times over, it's time for the real deal. Darcey told me that this is the time when young boys start taking sedatives and stuffs like that to be able to keep up with the trainings.
The National Schools Football Championship begins this week but our first game is not until next week. I need to speak to Jace and try to make him come back before then because I can't play at the championships.
I'll be too afraid and I can't handle fear. If I'm scared then I won't be able to play well and if I don't play well, I'll ruin everything he has worked for.
In order to also give this thing my all, I have to clear my mind off of anything disturbing it. Right now, the only thing on my mind is wandering whether or not I blabbed my secret to Andrew.
If I did, why is he not saying anything? Maybe I didn't tell him or maybe he doesn't remember. I've seen it happen a lot in movies when the girl thinks that she revealed her big secret to the guy and that she's doomed but when the next day comes, he barely even remembers how he got home.
Andrew is extremely forgetful and dumb normally so it's only fair that intoxicated him will be a bigger nut job than he already is.
"I'm saying that I need you here as soon as possible" I told Jace for the tenth time since I started this call. He's not taking me seriously and he seems to be enjoying his stay in Korea.
"Don't worry, I'll be be back soon"
"How soon?"
"Very soon"
"Can that soon be next week?" I asked
"Right, the championships. Well, I'll see what I can do" He said
"What you can do? This is about your reputation. This is your life, your school, your championship" I yelled
"Honey, high school ends this year. We have barely three months left before we all go our separate ways. Once high school ends, Will I still be a QB? So, it doesn't matter what happens"
"What about coach Kirk who has so much trust in me, I mean you"
"I have no worries because I trust you. I gotta go, my girl's here and don't think too much, I'll be there for the game because I can never let my team down" I hung up and threw my phone on the bed.
There was a knock on my door before it opened and Darcey came in.
"You knocked on the door but you didn't even let me answer, you just came in" I rolled my eyeballs
"Scratch that, we have bigger problems"
"What's that?"
"Ok, your mom is downstairs and she looks furious"
"How is that a problem? She's always furious" I asked
"I think she knows about your plan"
"What? How did she find out? That woman never minds her business"
"I have no idea but you should go down right now because the last thing you need is to make her madder than she already is" She said.
I brushed my hair and adjusted my dress before going down. I faked a smile when I got downstairs.
"Heyy Mom" I said nervously
"Get in my car right now" She got up
"Why?"
"Don't make me repeat myself. Get your damn ass into my car" She yelled
"Alright, I'm going" I slammed the front door and got into the back seat of her car. I wonder why she's mad. She drove a few blocks away from Darcey's house.
"A letter from your principal saying that you are expected to wrap up your trip from New Orleans?" She yelled
So Principal Mason put me in this mess. I knew one of this grumpy adults will be the death of me.
"I can explain"
"No, you're gonna shut up and listen to me"
"Do you know another strange thing I can't understand? Your brother is in Korea but somehow he's been attending all of his games. He even went to camp" She said
I was staring at her like a lost child.
"Are you gonna look at me like a fool or are gonna explain yourself?" She folded her arms.
"You told me to shut up"
She shot me a death glare. I swallowed a lump in my throat and exhaled deeply.
"I've been pretending to be Jace but only to help him out so that he doesn't ruin his reputation" I said
"Why the hell are you doing all this? Why didn't you bother to tell me?"
"It's not like you care so why are you suddenly pretending" I am so furious
"What are you talking about Julian?"
"I'm talking about how you've never cared about me or Jace. You and Dad are always so busy with your work that you never have time for us. You've been ignoring us since birth and we can do nothing but hope that someday you'll change. If you ever paid attention to Jace then you would have known what football means to him but I don't expect you to care. I'm going back to Darcey's, good day" I got up and walked out of my house.
I sat at the bus stop waiting for a bus to come around so that I can go back to Darcey's place. This stuff is going much longer than I expected and it's getting harder every day.
I was looking at some text messages from my phone when a red car stopped on the other side of the road. I feel like I've seen that car before. The driver was looking at me but I couldn't make up who it was.
The bus finally came around and served as a barrier between the car and I. I got on the bus and closed my eye to take a nap.
That was when I remembered what happened last night.
