I haven't had anything to eat this morning and I'm kind of starving. Since I'll probably eat out, I guess I'll just have an apple.
I walked into my kitchen and my facial expression immediately shifted from a cheerful one to an extremely annoyed one.
My mom was in the kitchen peeling apples.
"Where are you headed to?" She asked
"Like you care" I picked up an apple
"Have some of the ones I've peeled, don't eat the skin. Also, you're not stepping a foot of this house in those excuse for clothes"
"What is wrong with you? I'm not gonna have anything made by you because I don't want to have anything to do with you"
"Can't you see that I'm trying to look out for you?"
"Just stop, you and Dad think that you can walk in and out of our lives and still have a place. You're my mom on papers but you've never been one and you never will. Watch out for that knife, I heard it's dangerous to even a snake"
"I don't need that attitude from you"
"Gee, I wonder where I get it from" I stormed out of the house. The nerve of that lady, how dare she act like a mom? She doesn't even care about us. I can never forgive her for what she did to me when I was a child.
I opened the door of my favorite Cafe and saw my odd squad sitting by their signature corner of the cafe. I walked over to them.
"Oh, you exist? I literally forgot you were alive because you've been so low key" Riley said
"Don't be a meanie, she has a job now and responsibilities" Jolene said
"Yeah, something you'll never understand" Darcey spat out.
"I missed you guys so much" I sat down.
"So you're saying that Antonio and Darcey are official but they'll also be going on a long term relationship in college, Riley and Jolene are going to Harvard just like most of us, Orion and his boyfriend split because he's moving to Florida, Derek and Nirvana are official? Wow a lot really happened this past few weeks" I exhaled after they gave me all of the tea.
"Yeah, you've been living under a rock" Rico said
"If you guys are done, let's get on with the real deal" Derek said
"The real deal? I thought we just gonna have coffee and bond together"
"Oh sweet, simple Julian. You're such an idiot. Does this look like a summer of fun to you?" Nirvana asked
"No"
"Yeah, that's what I thought"
"Ok, Jules don't look but there's a hottie standing at the front door and he's totally staring at you" Darcey said
As soon as she said this, I turned around and my eyes locked with a familiar pair of almond eyes.
Logan.
"I said don't look" She whined. He smiled at me and came over.
"No way, Cuz?" Derek got up and hugged Logan.
Am sorry, am I missing something? Why are they hugging?
"You guys know each other?" I asked
"Know each other? he's my family" Derek placed his right hand over Logan's shoulder.
"Family?"
"Yeah, we're cousins" Logan said
"Wait, wait, wait, so you're telling me that he's your cousin and you're his cousin? You guys are cousins?"
"I think they've already clarified that obvious fact, Julian" Jolene said
"I know but it's so strange how small this world is"
"So how do you know Logan?" Riley asked
"Um....I....Uh...."
"I visited the store that she works in and I forgot my wallet but she gave it back to me. Since then, we've been talking" He saved me from embarrassment.
"You went to a Seraphine store?" Darcey asked
Can't all this stupid friends of mine let things slip?
"Yeah, um, I had my reasons"
"Alright, let's get going" Rico said
"Where are we going to?" I asked
"Oh you'll see"
We went out of the cafe and got into our various cars and drove away together. You don't need to ask, Darcey entered into my car without permission. She turned Tonio down to spend time with me.
You might think that this is really cute and all that because she's a really good friend but knowing Darcey, she's not one to be nice.
"So you and Logan, huh?" I knew it, I knew there was a freaking catch.
"Me and Logan, what? We're just friends"
"Did I say you weren't? I guess what they say is true, The biggest traitor in a person's life is undeniably them"She smirked
"You're such a whiz, I know what you're up to but you of all people should know that I don't fall for guys easily"
"Yet here we are, A broken you who has a boyfriend that she can't see and has no idea what he's up and also can't enjoy her summer"
"All of this problems have nothing to do with Andrew and you know it"
"You're only in this mess because you couldn't come clean early enough. You were worried that you'd hurt his feelings. I understand that you loved him a lot but he's gone now and you have a hottie who's definitely into you"
"I love Andrew and nothing can change that"
"We'll see how that goes but in case if it fails, I'll visit you sometime in the future with some milk"
"Why would you visit me with milk?"
"You know, cause you'll be a crazy cat lady living in a shack with sixty four cats" She chuckled
"Hahaha, that's so lame, Darcey"
"You're still lamer" She stuck out her tongue at me.
"I missed you so much" I smiled at her.
I have no idea where we are going to. I'm just following their cars. If they're taking me to my grave then I hope they have pie.
