Ok, maybe I'm not in my right mind today but why is the store I work in not full and extremely uncomfortable to work in.
I know that the prizes are off the chart but you would be surprised by the amount of sales we make in a day.
"Why does the store look sadder than my family dinner?" I asked Molly
"Isn't it obvious? You've chased away the customers with you lack of style and low sense of humor" Whitney smirked
"I wasn't talking to you so I think it's best if you shut up and think about how to revive some shame and self respect for yourself"
"Are you calling me shameless?"
"When did I?" I stuck out my tongue and Molly chuckled.
Gladys came in almost immediately and boy, she was not happy. She seemed awfully quiet and absent might.
I think herr new mood has something to do with this empty store.
"Gladys, are you ok?" " I know we haven't been the best of friends or even bonded at all but I guess it doesn't hurt to be nice.
"Yeah, I'm... I'm fine" She wiped some tear drops off the corner of her eyes. Ok, am I day dreaming or is she crying?
"But you're crying, is something actually wrong? There's also no customer today and I wonder why"
"Why don't you just go away and go watch some Netflix or eat ice cream? You're still so young, enjoy it because being grown up is so messed up" She pushed me aside and went out of the store.
"Ok, is it just me or is something up with Gladys?" I went back to the counter to go meet Molly.
"Yeah, I actually noticed it earlier" She said
"Well, since this place is like a dessert, I'm just gonna head home" I said
"Weird or not, Gladys will still have your head for dinner if she finds out" She said
The rest of the day went by like a passing wind. There wasn't a single customer and that's so strange but right now, I have a party to get ready for.
I knocked on Jace's door softly. I know he's not one to miss a party so I figured that I should let him know about the party.
"Go away if you're not Julian" He yelled. I smiled at the fact that even though he's going through a hard time, he still loves me a lot.
I opened his door slightly and pushed my head through the space. I saw him sitting on his bed reading a sports magazine.
I feel bad for him because he wanted to go to a football academy but because of his health condition, no school accepted him. He's refused to sign up for admission to another school and I wondered what the future holds for him.
"Our friends are having a party tonight and it's going to be lit. Are you coming? You're coming, one way or another"
"Alright"
"Wait, that was way too easy. What's the catch?"
"Nothing but just know that you're driving" He chuckled
"Knew there was a catch" I smiled at the fact that I made his mood lighten up "Get dressed"
I looked at myself in the mirror and smiled at my pretty reflection. I had a peach romper on with black leather boots and white socks. I look like a nice meal right now. I curled my hair because I look prettier like that.
"Get your ass down here, Jace" I yelled.
"Coming" I walked over to the front door and opened the door. I froze dead in my tracks when I saw a familiar face in front of my house.
"Logan?"
"Finally, it took me two cat slaps, one broom whack and old lady spit on my face to find your house. Wow, you look amazing"
"Thank you but what are you doing here?"
"I thought we were going for the party together"
"Oh, I know we were going together but I didn't know that we were going 'Together'. In my head, it was more of a plus one"
"Oh..I"
"Who's that Jules?" My eyes widened as I heard Jace's voice from behind me.
"No one" I slammed the door in Logan's face.
"What do you mean no one? You were clearly talking to someone"
"Uh yeah, wrong house" I laughed nervously
"You're lying"
"Am I?"
"Yes, when you're lying, you start laughing nervously and ask a lot of questions"
"Do I?"
"Move aside" He pushed me away from the door and opened it. I closed my eyes and prayed silently that Logan wasn't an idiot.
"Why did you have to act so suspiciously when you weren't lying?" He asked
I opened my eyes and confirmed that Logan was actually not slow witted.
"Let's go" He picked up his jacket and exited the house. I took a deep breath and picked up my jacket and also exited the house.
The party was at the frat house. Although we're done with high school, some of us still have plans to stay here. There will be frat houses in our various colleges but some of them are staying here for the entire summer.
It reminded me of the good ol' days. The only thing this party is missing is a piece of Laverne madness. I actually really miss Andrew. I went over to the drink table for a punch. I don't have a single bone in me that wants to get intoxicated.
"Hey, what was that all about?" Logan came up to me.
"Punch?" I offered him a cup and he collected it "My brother is so dang over protective. He would have definitely killed you if he had caught you"
"Wow, I guess I'll have to watch out in the future"
"Are you suggesting a future with me?" I smirked at him
Before he could answer, my annoying best friends came up to ruin everything.
"So guys , thank you all for putting your busy schedules behind and actually making it. Enjoy yourselves but drink responsibly" Jolene announced
Look who's telling others to drink responsibly. Jolene could drink an entire beer company if you let her to.
"So about what I asked earlier?" I asked him again
"Uh"
"Jules" Grh, can't they just let me be.
"What do you want Darcey?" I said
"Attitude, anyways, we're gonna play a little game of Spin the bottle"
"You can't possibly be asking me to play, can you?"
"Come on, it'll be fun"
**
So y'all, here's the tea.
I love Andrew so much which is why I can't really bond with Logan. You might not see a lot of chapters in his POV but you'll see a lot of him.
