"You guys are the light of this school and you haven't even been preparing? Is it that you've become so confident that you're going to win that you no longer have time to even strengthen your weakness" Coach Kirk yelled at us.
You see, I think our football team has become way too confident. They believe that they can win any game and see no point in training anymore.
I personally think that they're really good but that doesn't mean that they can go around and do whatever they please.
"Coach, we have been practicing" Andrew said
"Really? Team captain, I haven't seen you guys on the field since you returned from camp. What do you have to say QB?" He pointed at me
"Um..we..I" I stammered
"Whatever, we still have four more days to the game so you have more than enough time to practice"
"Actually coach, we have only two days left because we don't have practice on Saturdays and Sundays" Riley said
"Says who? As long as I am the Coach of The Lions then only I can say when you will and when you won't have trainings is that understood?" He blew his whistle.
"Got it coach" Everyone said in unison.
The last free moments I had was this very moment. If I had known what was in store for me then I would have spend the rest of today stuffing my face with fudge pops or some jolly ranchers while devouring some Cheetos.
Coach Kirk has a strict no sugar diet when championships is in season. He bans the entire team from sugar and forces everyone to eat only salads and diet Coke or Pepsi or soda water.
If there's one thing I hate after high school, it's exercise. Every single time, I find a routine and be like 'Oh I'm gonna do this for thirty days'. Two days into the routine, I'm on my couch eating some burrito.
He made us do different exercises with at least twenty of each one. A week ago, I was too lazy to get up from my bed and come to school but now, I come to school as early as six thirty and start doing bench presses, lunges and other exercise thingys.
There is one strange thing that has been happening since this thing started. Everytime I finish up my exercise and open my locker in my locker room, I always find a can of fruit punch and sticky note that says
"You're doing great, continue making me proud"
I need to talk to Darcey, she'll know what to do. Oh right, she's still mad at me for some reason I don't get. I'm not taking it personal but she's taking it way too personal. As much as I hate to give her the satisfaction of knowing she's right, that's the only thing I can do right now.
"Hey Darcey" I knew she'd be at the library, that's her favorite spot in school.
"What do you want? I made it clear to you this morning that we only live together but we're not on talking terms"
"Come on" I said
She didn't say anything.
"Listen, I know I was a jerk and a turd to you that night but I was just frustrated. I didn't know that things would turn out this way when I agreed to be Jace. I miss you and I love you" One thing about Darcey is that she has a soft heart. She might pretend to be tough and not care but she can never say no to an apology.
"Come here you basket case" She hugged me tightly "I missed you so much"
"So you're saying that you think you have a secret admirer?" She asked
