J U L I A N

I thought that I wouldn't have to see those fake blonde locs with dark roots, overly constructed nose job, plump and red lollipop like lips once high school is over.

I was wrong.

Somehow, it's like I'm cursed to be unhappy. Whitney caused everyone so much unhappiness and now, she's out of their hair but I'm stuck with her all summer.

Sometimes, I feel like everyone is moving on but I'm still stuck at the very beginning.

"Hey, Julian, you look Julian" Whitney eyed my outfit from head to toe "Seriously, how did you manage to get a job in a fashion store?"

"Pretty rich for someone who's carrying out community service business with me"

"Please, I can score a job here on a regular day but you, you have no hope" She flipped her hair.

I rolled my eyeballs and went away from her. Molly came around and we chatted about random stuffs. Today is my seat in day, everyone else gets to go for lunch while I stay back and watch the store.

I took a seat behind the counter and picked up Molly's nail polish. Hm, I guess a little Mani won't hurt.

I was in the middle of painting my nails when I heard someone knock on the door frame.

"The door's open, Why are you knocking?" I said without looking up

"I know, I wanna grab the attention of a beautiful girl in a fancy store" A very well not too familiar voice said.

I looked up and a smile immediately etched on my face. "Logan?" I got up from my seat.

"What are you doing here?" I asked

"Well, I just happened to be having lunch in the food court and I decided to bring you a burger"

"Were you really just having lunch?"

"Cross my heart"

"How do you even know where I work?" I asked

"You dropped this in my car last nigjt" He brought out my journal from his pocket.

"Did you like read this?"

"Yeah, I thought it was a diary but it seemed more of a school book than a spicy teenage diary"

"Yeah, it's my work journal. I didn't realize I didn't make an entry yesterday" I excluded the part where I forgot because I basically slept off while still on Facetime with Andrew.

"Here's your burger" He handed a bag from inside out burger. I opened it and saw a box of fries and a pack of Heinz Ranch

"Oh my gosh, you got me Ranch"

"Yeah, it's really good on burger and fries. I also got you Honey Racha because I don't know which of the k
new heinz flavor you like"

"I like them both but I'm not a fan of ketchup" I smiled at him

"Alright, I'm gonna head out. Enjoy your burger and don't forget to meet me up on Saturday"

I went back to my seat and quickly finished up my lunch because Gladys has a serious no food in the store policy.

I just realized that I'm an idiot. I have plans with Logan but I don't even know where we're going to. To make things worse, I don't have his number.

What am I gonna do? He doesn't have my number and I don't have his. Well, at least I'm not the only dumb one. He's also not as bright as he looks.

I was in the middle of my rant when my phone started ringing. I picked it up and saw it was an unknown number.

Maybe it's Logan. I placed the phone on my ear and smiled when his voice filled my ear drums.

"I don't even wanna know how you got my number but I also wanna know" I said

"Your journal, you wrote it down in a corner" He said

"Oh right, I guess my frequent loss of memory is quite helpful. I wrote it down because I forget my number like all the time. I'm talking too much aren't I?"

"No, no, I like hearing you rant, it's cute. Anyways, there's a new ice cream parlor which also has a karaoke"

"Ok"

"I'll text you the address and everything else. Naturally, I'd say wear something pretty but I know you'll look good in any outfit" I smiled at an idiot.

"Teehee" Oh no, did I just "Tee hee"

"See you soon" He hung up.

Well, now that that's over, let's move on to my next problem. I have no idea what to wear. I mean what am I supposed to wear for ice cream and karaoke? I shouldn't wear a dress because that seems too formal but I also can't wear shorts because that's too casual.

"I made Waffles, want some?" Maddie poked her head through my door.

"Do you ever knock?"

"Whoa, someone's cranky? What's up?" She looked at my bed and saw multiple outfits. Her eyes had this exceptional glow in them that I know almost immediately what she's up to.

"It's not what you're thinking, Mads"

"Oh my gosh, Are going on a date?"

"Well, it's not a date, I guess"

"With who? Mr Stranger"

"He's not a stranger and his name's Logan"

"Oh my gosh, you are going on a date"

"It's not a date. It's just two normal teens going to eat ice cream and sing their hearts out"

"Since when did Julian Reece start singing?"

"Since today" I said "Are you going to stand there all day and be a whiz or are you gonna help me pick out an outfit?" I asked

"Alright, let's see what you got"

After hours of Maddie cursing and attacking my closet, we pulled together a killer look for me.

"Oh my word, you look stunning"

Remember how I said that a dress will be too formal, well she took it to a whole new level. She picked out a straight short dress with really tiny straps, then she made me wear a white turtle neck top and of course some white kicks.

I styled my hair in a high ponytail and put on some lip gloss. I feel like I shouldn't be doing this especially since I'm still with Andrew but a part of me wants to go and unfortunately, that part is much larger.
