"Drew" My mom banged on my door vigorously. I got my habit of banging doors from her and I guess I never realized how annoying it is.

No wonder it always pisses Jace off.

"What is it mom?" I didn't even move muscle, I just lay comfortably on my bed.

"Open the door sweetheart, I'll like to talk to you" I groaned before getting up from the bed and dragged my feet to the door. I twisted the door knob after unlocking it and my mom came in.

"How is Jace?" She asked

"Really? You woke me up to talk about Reece?" I love my mom but she's extremely annoying.

"So what, I know you too aren't cool because of what he did but there's no friendship that can't be repaired" Her eyes sparkled

"Please tell me that you're not planning something that requires me to be in the same place with Reece for a long period of time and is not in any way related to football"

"Wow, I never realized that you've grown up to be such an intelligent young man" She held my cheek and wiggled it like a baby's.

"Really? Because just last month, you were crying while predicting my future" I pushed her hand away

"Well, that's only because you were all about girls and you were never serious about school but I've been getting good reports about you"

"You have?" I'm sure it's not Mr George who sent the good reviews, the guy hates me after his wife. So who did?

"Yeah, I have. So tell me, who's the girl?"

"Huh?"

"Who's the girl? I heard that you've stopped taking girls to bed and that's so unlike you. I think you're in love son. Who's the girl?"

I closed my eyes and tried to think of a face but there was nothing. Oh wait, I see something. Him? Why is Jace on my mind? Why is my heart beating fast as I'm thinking about him? Am I the one turning gay?

No, I mean, he has been around me way too much this days and we've been forced to do things together so it's only fair that I'm thinking about him.

I just have to keep my distance from him and I'll be back to the old me. Less thinking about Jace more attacking and hating him.

"Mom, there's no girl. There can never be one particular girl. I don't care about anyone but you and Andre so stop bugging me"

"Nonsense, every guy has a girl made specially for him. You just haven't found her yet or maybe you have but you have failed to realize it. Anyways, I will love it if you can invite Jace over for dinner tomorrow night. I didn't get to talk to him during your aunt's Jacqueline's party" She looked at me with pleading eyes

"Why are you so difficult mom?" She knows how much I love her and she uses it to have her way with stuffs.

"That's why I'm your mom. You think I'd have been able to raise you if I was simple minded" She chuckled

"Why can't we just have dinner alone?"

"No, I'd like to introduce Andre to Jace if you don't want to"

"Alright, I'll tell him tomorrow at school" She pecked my cheek

"I'll make you blueberry muffins tomorrow morning" I smiled widely.

I love her muffins a lot but I also love her pies. My mom is an excellent baker, she's always been. She has a bakery and she's had it long before she even married my stepdad.

That's a story for some other day.

I don't know how I'm gonna ask Jace to come with me because knowing him very well, he's not one to do me favors.

I swallowed a deep breath and walked  into my classroom. I studied Jace a bit before sitting down beside him. He seems to be in a good mood. This is my chance.

"Um Jace, I need a favor"

"Yeah, am not in the mood to do you favors" He stared at his book without even sparing me a glance.

"Just hear me out"

"Speak" He said like a detective.

"My mom wants you to come over for dinner. She misses you a lot and she wants to spend time with you. She also wants you to get to know my little brother Andre. You didn't get to meet him when we were still friends"

"You just said it, we're no longer friends. Enemies don't help each other out or at least I think" He scratched the back of his head

"Come on Reece"

"If I say ok will you stop bugging me?" I nodded

"Ok" He said

"So does this mean you'll do this?" I asked

"No" He picked up his books and went to sit down beside Riley.

He's truly difficult.
