I sat on my porch as I opened the letter she gave me and read it contents.
Life is hard, actually life is difficult. Sometimes, you want something to go the way you want it to but it totally goes the other way.
I've never had it easy in my life, Everytime I hear people say, what does she know about suffering? She has such a pretty physique and wealthy parents so why won't she be happy?
I often laugh at this comments. I believe that anyone who makes such comments is a really shallow person. Happiness isn't only determined by someone's body shape or bank account balance. Happiness comes from within the soul, body and mind.
High school has always been a hell hole for me. Life in general stinked more than a dirty sock in my dad's drawer.
However, this senior year, everything changed. I spent my freshman, sophomore and junior year sulking up to my sad life but this senior year, I met someone.
Actually, I knew him since my first day in high school but we were more of enemies than people who'd actually have a conversation together. He used to pick on me and all that but isn't it ironic how he went from my bully to my crush.
People say that a true match made in heaven is usually between the most unlike poles. Andrew and I are two different people. He was the team captain while I was the quarter back's sister. He's dumb while I'm smart. He's a carefree person who doesn't care about what others think while I'm a self conscious and careful freak who cares a lot about what others think.
There's only one thing that we have in common and that's football. I've been playing football for a very long time but I never told anyone or exhibited my abilities until this senior year.
This Senior year changed me and made me learn a lot of things about myself. It also helped me changed the way that I look at and view things.
There's also one key thing that I learnt about myself this final year. I learnt that I love to play football and maybe some time in college, I might play but it will be on the boys football team.
I met my friends who are also my family while playing on the boys football team. I've always known them and as the quarter back's sister, you can only imagine how much fraternity parties that I get to attend.
I just thought that the girls were a bunch of plastic sluts and the guys were a bunch of heartless playboys but I realized that they were so much more than that.
They stayed by me when things got tough and protected me from danger's reach.
So then, who am I?
I'm a girl, I love to play football and sleep around all day.
I'm a sister, I love my brother a lot and will go to any length just to make him happy. I didn't mind putting on a wig and pretending to be him because I really love him.
I'm a daughter, my family, well, we are not the ideal picture perfect family but if you can't love us the way we are then screw you. We have my dad, the businessman who chooses board meetings over his children's birthday parties. My mom, who acts tough but is actually the sweetest person on Earth. My Aunt, Bonnie, the crazy lady who acts more carefree than her daughter. My cousin, Birdie, the detective who thinks she's stale and heartless but she's the most amazing, kindest and sweetest person that I know after my mom then there's Jace, my brother, my amazing playboy brother who finally fell in love.
We might be different but together, we can be happy.
I'm a friend, I love each and every one of my friends including you, Logan. They give me the comfort that I need and stand by me when I need them.
But most importantly, I'm a human being. I'm a human being and not a robot so it's okay to have feelings and make bad decisions.
Life isn't all about how many bad decisions that you make but how you get up from your mistakes.
I have this great life planned out for myself and the person who stole my heart therefore, I can't be yours or anyone else's in general because my heart belongs to the team captain that I fell in love with.
You're a really amazing guy and I know that you'll meet a wonderful someone who'll love you till the end of time but that someone isn't me.
It was nice knowing you, have a great life, Logan and whenever you miss me, you know where to find me.
Love,
Julian
I closed the letter and stared at the sky. I guess dreams do come true otherwise, I wouldn't have met Julian. She's really and even though she can't be mine, I'll live my life remembering what an awesome girl she is and wishing her the best in life.
She might even be my colleague or I could be her boss in the future but for now, she's the girl that I'll admire from afar.
