J U L I A N
I hopped on Darcey's bed and read through the play's script that the boys were able to put together.
There weren't nine thousand dollars worthy. It was mostly sci-fi, horror and all of those boyish genres. Well, what do I expect? I sent three boys to do a girl's job.
I need a romantic play. I need to write a play about some kind of forbidden love story.
Wait, when I was younger, I wrote a book. It was more of a play but I never actually thought of turning it into one.
What was it about again? Oh right, it was about a witch who fell in love with a human boy. I pulled out plain sheets from Darcey's drawer and started scrubbing down everything I could remember about the book.
I stayed up all night writing The Script. I figured that I'd print it out so that everyone can have a copy.
I placed the stack of scripts in front of everyone.
"Whoa, when did you write all this?" Molly asked
"Only one is handwritten, the rest are typed" I said
"The good witch? Do we look like a bunch of pre schoolers?" Riley asked
"Oh, so your idea of a better script is Killing Sprint?" I said
"Who wouldn't pay to watch that" Derek said
"Every sane person, besides, how do you plan to work out the effects, cinematography and don't forget blood. Horror and Action movies give out a different energy from any other genre" Jolene said
"The script is actually really nice" Maddie said
"Alright, so let's begin"
The arts and crafts kids came in and started working on the stage while the actors auditioned for their different roles.
" Alright, after a lot of timing and consideration, we've finally put together our cast list. Thank you for your time" Nirvana said
"For the roles, I will be playing Gia, the good witch. Logan will be playing Marco, the human boy who I fall in love with. Dina will be playing Shelby,
Marco's crazy ex girlfriend. The rest of you will be extras" I said"What of our costumes?" Sandy, a volunteer asked
"We're still working on that but in the meantime, you guys should donate to Seraphine foundation" I pointed to a big bin with cash in it.
They rose to their feet and dropped some money into it. Well, we just might pull this off.
We started rehearsal and I must say, everyone was actually cooperating. I thought I'd have to break some necks and stab a throat.
I pulled up in my driveway and hopped out of my car. Gosh, I've never been so exhausted in my entire life.
At least the tickets are really selling out and all that. I grabbed the handle of my bag and walked over to the front door.
I can't believe that Andrew hasn't called me or returned my texts. What's up with my life? I thought everything would be fine. I guess I was wrong.
I opened the door in a very reluctant manner but every negative feeling flew out of the window when I saw someone I didn't expect standing in the kitchen.
"Aunt Bonnie" I ran towards her and gave her a tight hug.
"Look how big you are now"
Remember my aunt who raised Jace and I when our parents were too busy being butt heads which they still are by the way.
"Why did you take so long to visit us? I missed you so much" I squeezed her waist
"You're killing me Jules" She rubbed my head
I unlaced my hands from around her waist.
"I brought you my old yearbook and some photos like you asked for. You said that you really wanted see what it was like going to school in the 80's" She said
"Let's go upstairs, now" She grabbed my hands and pulled me up to her room.
"So you're saying that you have a really handsome boyfriend but he's being a jerk?"
"Yeah, we haven't talked in days" I said
"Well, no matter how handsome he might be, if he's a jerk them dump him" She said
I was looking through some of the photos when I saw a familiar woman. I'm very sure that I've seen her before but where.
"Aunt Bonnie, who is this?" I asked
"Who? Kimmie? That's Kimmie Perez. She was a very odd girl back in school. She hated herself because she was twenty three in the tenth grade" She said
"What? Is that even possible?"
"Yeah, she had some family issues and she left school for a while. At that time, she was about three or four classes ahead of my grade but by the time she returned, she had to remain in the same grade with us".
"I feel like I've seen her somewhere before"
"Maybe you have but rumor has it that even her family don't know where she is. She hated them anyways, she also hated her name"
"Her name?"
"Yeah, her name isn't Kimmie. I can't remember her real name because she made everyone call her Kimmie" She said
"Alright, I'll let you rest and we can talk more later" I hugged her and went out of her room.
I picked up some of my paperwork for the play and went out to my balcony.
"You're really working your butt off for this play, aren't you?" I raised my head and saw Jace resting on the door frame.
"Of course, ten grand is no joke" I said
"What if I make an anonymous donation?"
"You fool, that's not how anonymous works. It's not anonymous if I know you sent it" I said
"You're such a smart cookie"
"No, I just have common sense which you lack" I said
"I know you're busy but I can tell that there's something on your mind. Do you wanna talk about it?"
"Not really" I wiped a traitorous tear drop that managed to escape from my eye balls.
"You're crying, Why are you crying?" He moved closer to me
"It's Andrew, he isn't returning my calls and text and I don't know what to do. Everyone's telling me to call it quits with him but I can't bring myself to do it. I just can't" I burst into tears.
"I'm so going to kill that bastard. It's ok Jules" He hugged me.
"I want to but I just can't and my heart is hurting like crazy" I said
"It's ok, you can cry. Let it all out"
"Promise me you won't kill him"
"Cross my heart"
