J U L I A N
I'd be so damned if I didn't talk to Andrew today. Prom is also a week from now and I don't have a date.
I saw everyone gathering by the notice board and I squeezed myself through the crowd. It was a list of all the people in my grade who passed their finals. The first 100 people in our grade that have managed to secure entrance exams into colleges.
"Wow, Julian, you're number one" Someone said
I stood on my tip toe and saw my name at the top of the list. My jaw dropped when I saw the college that accepted me.
Harvard.
I squealed in happiness and danced ignoring the stares of everyone.
"Come on, let's join the crazy girl" Antonio pulled out his iPod and played some jams for us. The hallway turned into some kind of turn up party.
"What the chicken nuggets is going on here?" Principal Mason came out of his office.
"Come on, loosen up Principal Mason" Jace patted his back
I burst into laughter when he started swaying his hips. I managed to slip through the crowd and went to look for Andrew.
I adjusted my romper and opened the boy's locker room door. I'm guessing that he's here because he's not anywhere.
I saw him sitting on a bench. He was polishing his sneakers.
"Hey" I sat down beside him
"What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be with your brother or something?" He stood up and started walking away.
"How long are you going to keep running away from me? You won't even give me a chance to clear the confusion? I guess you're not as amazing as I thought" I teased him
"What am I to do with you?"
"You can do whatever you want but first I'm sorry, I didn't mean it the way that you think I did" I said
He held my hand"I know"
"Will you finish up what you were talking about yesterday?" He pulled me to the bench.
"My father passed away when I was fourteen years old. He was my idol and my coach. He trained me and formed me into the person that I am today. He wasn't doing well financially. We were a middle class family and he couldn't afford to send me to college. I promised him that I would get a football scholarship into a good college. The only person that gets attention when scholarship coaches come along is the team's quarter back. Jace knew how badly I wanted to be the QB to honour my father's wish but he stole it from me" He said
"But you're really good at football so how exactly did he steal it so easily?" I asked
"On the day of the trials, I was sick and didn't go to school. Jace used that as an opportunity to steal my spot"
"Did you talk to him about it?"
"What was the point? He showed me that he didn't care about me as a friend"
"Your family doesn't seem to need that scholarship, don't you think it's time to let a grudge go"
"No, I'm still mad at him and I still really wanted that scholarship even though my step father is filthy rich. I feel like it's the last thing I need to do for my father to rest in peace" He said
"I had no idea, I just thought you were just letting your ego get in the way of your friendship but I was wrong" I wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him.
"It's ok, angel eyes" He leaned in to me and our lips connected. He kissed me so passionately that I could feel all of his worries through that one kiss.
He held my hand and we walked out of the locker room.
Now that I know what happened between the both of them, there's no way that I'm not going to work my Julian magic. There were friends before, right? So all it will take is a little convincing and boom, their back to being adorable and out of my hair.
"Julian, Can I see you in my office?" Principal Mason called out to me.
"Go without me" I pecked Andrew's cheek and went into his office.
"You called for me?" I said once I was in his office.
"Yes, have a seat" I sat down on the seat in front of his desk.
"So I took a lot of time to decide what your community service will be and I've finally come to a conclusion"
"Which is?"
"You're going to volunteer at a store of your choice at the mall this summer" He said
"I am?"
"Yes, you are going to work for free for at least two weeks or more depending on how the owner feels" He said
"That doesn't sound that bad, I mean, it's fair" I said
"Tell that to the girls at the denim dungeon" He chuckled
The denim dungeon, that place is literally a hell hole. It's a store that you're not supposed to know exists because it's one of those stores that no one ever remembers to visit but for some reason which is probably the extremely cheap prices of denim, it's always packed.
I heard a girl broke her leg when she was shopping at that store.
"As long as I don't have to volunteer in that hell hole, I'm good" I smiled at him and went out.
My heart warmed when I saw Andrew sitting outside his office.
"Why are you still here?" I asked
"You ask like you aren't thrilled that I didn't abandon you and besides, what kind of jerk would I be if I leave my girl and go home?" He said
"You're sweet" He placed his hand on my lower back and walked me out of school.
My life is complete now and all I have to do is fix the shit between the two guys in my life.
That and find out why the hell Andrew hasn't asked me to Prom.
