J U L I A N
I quit my job at Seraphine because I need to spend some time while loving myself. I still go there to give a hand but I just plan on enjoying my holiday.
Logan and I have been doing pretty good. We've gone on couple of dates and he clearly has feelings for me but I'm not sure about my feelings for him.
I know that he's putting in a lot of effort into making us work but sometimes, I still think of him.
I can't believe that he didn't call me after I left. Even if he doesn't like me, he could have at least pretended to care. I guess I gave him what he wanted.
He wanted to be free from this relationship with me and I finally gave him what he wanted. This is what I want, right? So why then am I not happy?
"You know, it's a really bad habit to peel an apple and think about your life" A very familiar voice that I haven't heard for a while said.
"Dad?" I turned around and saw my father resting on the door frame. I ran towards him and hugged him like my life depended on it.
"Whoa, did something happen while I was unconscious? You're hugging me" He placed his arms around me and hugged me back.
"Yeah, something definitely changed. I realized that you have to break your heart to heal some wounds" I said
"I'm a fifty and quarter years old and I have no idea what that means"
"Neither do I, I love you, dad"
"I love you too, sweetie" I snuggled deeply into his chest. It felt so good to be in my dad's arms. That's something I never grew up with.
Reconciling with my dad made an idea pop into my head. I decided to make everyone sit together and have a meal like a regular family.
I entered into the dinning room with so much happiness in my blood. I saw a sight that I haven't seen for decades.
My entire family was seated on the dinning table. They weren't chatting and all that but at least, this is a good start.
"Hey, where's Birdie?" I sat beside Aunt Bonnie
"She's cooking dinner" She said
"Alright" It took about a minute for my brain to register what he said "Birdie's Cooking dinner?" I yelled
I love Birdie but she's a terrible cook. Her food isn't all that bad in taste but the kind of stuffs that you'll find in her food makes you wonder if she cooked with an animal.
The last time she cooked dinner for me, I found a stone in my chicken noodle soup.
"Dinner is ready" The helpers came in with plates of grilled cheese, steaks, soy sauce, fried rice and of course, chicken.
"They all look delicious, it's a shame that your daughter cooked it" I whispered to Aunt Bonnie.
"Don't worry, I got this covered" She said
I took a bite from the grilled cheese.
"Holy moly, this is the best grilled cheese that I've ever had" I moaned as the juicy taste hit my taste buds.
"Aww, thank you, Jules" Birdie blushed
"How did you?" I asked her.
"Told you I got this but I'll never tell" Aunt Bonnie smiled at me.
We finished up the rest of our dinner while having random discussions. For once, my mom wasn't such a bitch.
I guess everyone isn't as bad as they present theirselves to be.
