Honestly, I thought that the whole get the school to love me because of my heart felt speech would fail but it turned out to be much more successful than I could have ever imagined.

The way Andrew looked at me after my speech was enough to let me know that he doesn't hate me. His smile was genuine and made my heart smile.

"Miss Reece" Principal Mason called out to me.

"Yes?" I said

"Get over here" He signalled me to come backstage. I stepped down from the stage and went to meet him.

"I understand that you were only looking out for your brother. I wanted to make you come for summer school because kids your age hate that stuff but you're a good kid. I'll let you down a bit and give you community service. You're getting a job this summer as your punishment" He said

"That doesn't seem like that much of a punishment" I said

"You know, don't tell anyone but you're one of my favorite students" He whispered into my ear

"My lips are sealed" He chuckled

The theatre was all cleared out so I decided to clean up from here and go study. The final exams start in less than forty eight hours.

"I didn't know that you were such an excellent speaker" Someone said from behind me.

I turned around and saw Jace.

"Oh, you saw that?"

"You invited me remember?"

"So how was it?" He helped me put the board back in place

"Honestly, it was amazing. I don't do all of this touchy feely stuff  but I was touched. I think I cried a little" He chuckled

"It must have been really good if you actually cried"

"You don't actually believe that, do you?"

"I know you're a cry baby so I can actually believe it"

"Mhm, alright"

Ok, so phase one and two are complete so now I'm down to phase three.

As much as I want to find a way to get back on track with Andrew, I have to focus on my exams. If I fail, I won't get into college and my mom will murder me.

Also, the games are immediately after the exams so that's two things that I have to work hard for.

"I've been meaning to ask you Jace, Why didn't you tell me that you and Andrew used to be besties" I asked Jace on my way to class.

"How did you?" He sighed "It's a long story Jules and there's no time to talk about it. Run along or you're going to be late for class" He smiled at me

"Are you really not going to come to class?"

"Suspension is suspension"

"But Principal Mason forgave me so why won't he do the same to you?"

"You have to understand that not everyone is as loved as you are" He hugged me and walked me to my class.

I settled down and brought out my English textbook and started reading. I thought everyone would play around and waste their lives away but everyone was studying, something I thought I'd never see. Even Andrew was studying.

The closing bell rang and people went out for lunch.

"Hey Julian, Are you busy later today? I need to talk to you about something" Andrew asked

"As tempting as that offer sounds, I have so much to do. I have a lot of things that I still need to learn and all that. I don't think I'll have time until the finals are over" I threw my backpack over my shoulder.

"Alright then, I guess we'll hang later. Wait, do you want to come around for a study date or something like that?" He asked

"Sure"

Ok, so I'm guessing he doesn't hate me anymore. Well, we're off to a good start but it's going to take a lot of time to get him to fully trust me again. Unfortunately, high school is almost over. Prom is in less than two weeks and I don't even have a date.

I opened the door to the girls restroom and settled my bag on the counter. I looked at the air conditioner vent and my mind went off to the day that I was talking to Darcey in here as Jace that I had to crawl up there. Back then, everything was chill and going so well.

I looked at my reflection in the mirror. This is something I usually do whenever I feel down or little about myself.

The last stall opened and Maddie cane out of it. My mood immediately changed as soon as I saw her. I felt the urge to slam her against the bathroom tile and stick my fingers up her nostrils.

Don't judge me, I just hate it when people backstab me. It seemed like she was expecting me to say something but I just gave her the silent treatment.

"Are we really doing this Jules?" She asked

"I'm sorry, I couldn't see you there it must be because you're a vicious green snake in the mist of green grasses. Maddie, I trusted you and you let me down. I can't just forget this and act like we're ok"

"You know, I had my reasons, ok. I didn't do it because I wanted to see you torn. I had my reasons" She said

"Well, whatever your reasons are, I hope they're strong enough to defend you when your own conscience hunts you down" I grabbed my bag and walked out the restroom.

I better head over to Andrew's place for our study date. That sounds so wrong and makes me feel like I'm five again.

If there's anything I've learnt this few days is that you can never change your fate. I'm just going to sit back and relax because right now, that's all I can really do.

Thanks for reading this chapter.

You give me the support I need and I'm grateful.

Even if you don't love me, I love you.
