Elysian p/o/v:

"Ell come on we've got to get to the gates!" I nod to my brother as we sprint down the palace corridors. A deafening bang echoes through the corridors rattling the window's and Ranon swears loudly "Change of plan we have to protect the portal room." We change direction and run as fast as our magic will allow the walls turning into nothing but blurs.

We skid to a holt next to the guards and draw our swords "They've breached the gates." The six guards nod gravely and one speaks "We know the protocol." I can hear swords clashing the sound of metal on metal echoes around the vast corridors making it hard to pin point the direction. Ranon is bouncing on the balls of his feet and I smile at him "I want you to go find Attar protect him."

Ranon shakes his head "No you are the heir to the throne I need to protect you." I put a hand on his shoulder "I can protect my self please protect our brother." He pressed his forehead to mine "Stay safe sister." I smile and squeeze his arm lightly "You to." He runs of and the sounds of fighting get louder.

The guards behind me tense and I swing my sword loosening the muscles "Don't leave the door unless you have no other option." They both nod once in response and enemy soldiers run around the corner towards us weapons raised high. I summon my magic and cut down the first few to get close. But more replace them. I end up braced against the door completely surrounded.

Scowling I use my magic to teleport myself and the guards inside the portal room. Each portal is protected by an ornate door and in the middle of the room the heart of my home sits on a pedestal made of crystal. "Protect the crystal." The guards from a tight circle around it and the door starts to splinter before giving way completely splinters of wood flying through the room.

I use my magic as a shield and the soldiers by the door break into two lines as a talk man wearing full battle armor and a dark helmet that hides his face stalls forward a large sword at his side. I scowl and raise my sword "You are not welcome here." Slowly the man raises his hands and removes his helmet revealing a tanned and scarred face "Oh I was beginning to feel so at home."

He waves his hand and four more of his soldiers appear dragging my two brothers behind them. My mother's voice echoes through my head

We have lost daughter protect the crystal you know what you have to do.

I frown and stare at my brother's who both nod in understanding. I grab my crystal and teleport to my room. The crystal shrinks and I attach it to a chain putting it around my neck. As quick as I can I pack a small bag with clothes, weapons and other supplies. I grab the bag of food rations from under my bed and sling the two bags onto my back. I pause only for a second to watch the war waging around the palace. The dragons and there riders trying to protect the city but not risking fire in case they burn our own.

Pulling up my hood I start making my way back towards the portal room knowing that is my only means of escape. Striker has discarded his helmet on the floor and is examining the different portals. Turning myself invisible I sneak through the lines of guards towards my brothers. Striker turns "I know your in here princess, give me the crystal or your precious brothers get sent to another realm."

Slowly, quietly I slip my sword from its sheath and start whispering an incantation under my breath. "Our sister will not yield to you." Striker grins "I think she will." All the portal doors open revealing the glimmering silver surface behind. I can feel the power beginning to pull people towards them. "Who would like to go first?" Striker grabs Ranon and shoves him through a portal. I watch frozen in place as he falls through.

I reveal myself raising my sword "No." Striker smiles "Ah there you are." I walk towards him and swing my sword but he moves to fast twirling out the way. My sword crashes into the portal the spell meant for Striker starts moving through the silver substance. I pull my sword away and start chanting the reverse spell but it is to late the portal has gone out, destroyed. Striker laughs and I watch mortified as the spell spreads slowly from portal to portal.

Striker is distracted his head thrown backwards as he laughs. I lunge at him pushing him through one of the portals. Turning quickly the soldiers push Attar backwards through another portal as it closes. I yell and attack them swinging my sword in wide arcs. The soldiers start getting the upper hand pushing me back. I lose my footing on a pool of blood and slip backwards falling in what seems like slow motion as guards who I recognize come streaming through the door disarming the reaming enemy soldiers.
