The next day, everyone felt far better, if a little sore. Ella felt as strong as she was before. Cedric didn't feel like he was on the brink of death anymore. Ara' Sei could walk just fine, even if she had fallen quite a distance. Eris was the only one who had come out of the battle relatively unscathed. Throughout the day, the group relaxed and trained in their own, independent ways.
As evening came, Cedric and Ella once again travelled to the grove they had been to three days prior. Just as before, Cedric used his magic to scale the tree trunk and travel into the treetops. The sun set just as before, and Cedric spoke to the owl. The whole time, Ella waited patiently. What was talking to an animal like? Could she learn how to do such things? About ten minutes went by, and just like that, he was done. He had talked to the owl.
"So, Cedric, whatcha learn?"
"The owl here doesn't know, but, they think that there's another owl in the grove closer to the graveyard that might know.
"Should we go there?" Ella asked.
"Well, yeah, owls are out at night, so logically one will be there. Just like that, the two were running across the fields near Cresselbrooke. In the distance, Cedric could see the outline of a grove not far from the graveyard. After about fifteen minutes of running, the two of them arrived. The two of them looked around, searching. After a few minutes, Cedric gasped as he saw a hut tucked away in the trees.
"What is it!?" Ella asked.
"Shhhhhh!" Cedric answered. As quietly as he could, he crept forward. Ella followed suit. Half an hour passed and nothing happened. Cedric placed his hands on his eyes and muttered a few words, a faint emerald glow dancing through his fingers. After another fifteen minutes, the door of the hut opened. Cedric clearly saw a robed man attempting to sneak away. Cedric watched the robed man closely, waiting until he exited the grove. Cedric then followed from a distance. Sure enough, the man was walking towards the graveyard.
"It's gotta be him, we should go and tell the others now that we know where he lives." Cedric explained.
"Good idea." Ella agreed. The two then began running back towards Cresselbrooke. They made sure to stay as far away from the graveyard as they possibly could. When they got back to the inn they ran upstairs and Ella banged on the door of her and Ara' Sei's room.
"Cedric, go get Eris." Cedric nodded and let Eris know what him and Ella had found something. Soon, the four of them were gathered together in the girls' room.
"So, Ella? Cedric? What did you two find?" Ara' Sei asked. Ella and Cedric looked at each other.
"We know where this man lives." Ella declared.
"Okay, where?" Eris asked.
"He lives in the grove nearest to the grave yard in a hut." Cedric answered.
"Alright, the question then is what course of action to take now." Ara' Sei said. The four pondered for a moment.
"I don't think we need help from the guards this time either. Me and Ella could probably take care of this man with little problem. We're just going to need you and Cedric to take care of any undead he might have with him. If he's any bit smart, he won't be alone." Eris explained. The three other members of the group nodded.
"Well, I'm going to need some protection. I don't want to rely on Cedric, and if he has any of those shadow things they'll make me too weak to fight." Ella explained
"I should probably focus more of my magic on taking the offensive than purely self preservation." Cedri added.
"I'll play the same role as last time, only, I'll try to do it better." Ara' Sei said.
"And I'll make sure our necromancer isn't too much of a problem himself." Eris added.
"Alright, let's get some rest. Tomorrow, we'll prepare. Should we fight him in the day or night?" Ara' Sei asked.
"Probably in the night. We might be able to get the jump on him. Besides, we have to go to him either way." Eris explained.
"Alright. Cedric? Ella? Do you agree?"
"Yes."
"Hell yeah!"
"Okay, it's settled. Tomorrow, we'll gear up for battle. Tomorrow night, we go hunt down this necromancer and kill him and any remaining undead." Ara' Sei declared.
"And then get paid!" Ella added enthusiastically.
"Yes, that too."
