"Oh, Eris, I am so sorry." Cedric said.

       "Don't be-"

"No! You don't understand, he has the wand we got from the temple!" Cedric said. Eris' eyes widened.

"Well, then this is worse than I thought. We're going back to the inn, if you have anything there, take it. Then, we're getting the hell out of that place." Eris said.

"And going where!?" Zerai asked frantically.

"Somewhere more hidden. But for now, just follow my lead back." Eris answered, before once again reestablishing their disguise. Quickly, they led the rest of the group back to the inn. The group frantically gathered all belongings before gathering in Eris and Cedric's room.

"Okay, I'd say our best bet is to hide within the city. It's not going to be easy, but I think we can momentarily pull it off. He's a powerful politician, so naturally he has enemies. We can use that, we just need to find a safe haven first." Eris explained.

"Alright, so we just need to find it?" Zerai asked.

"Precisely. Now, I'll go in disguise, Cedric can also turn into something small and hide in my clothes. Our group will be harder to recognize this way." Eris explained.

Cedric quickly transformed into a squirrel. Eris transformed into a half-elven man with jet black hair and pale skin with the help of their illusions. But, as they were about to leave, they heard it.

A deep hum resonated throughout the ground. Eris quickly approached the nearest window to look. Near the center of the town was a massive cathedral with a tower that extended high into the sky. The top of the tower was glowing bright blue. Then, they heard an old man's voice.

"The individuals who go by Eris Servilus, Cedric, Ara' Sei, Ella, and Zerai, are all enemies of Atheira and of the government. For each member brought alive, two thousand gold will be rewarded, if dead, only one thousand. These individuals will be travelling together. In the name of Atheira and of our government, find them." The voice echoed off of every tower and every wall and every building. It resonated from everywhere, and the whole city could hear it. Some of the patron's eyes turned towards the group. The group hurried out the door.

Afternoon was beginning to shift to evening, unrest was even more present than usual in the streets.

"This is bad." Eris muttered frantically.

"What are we going to do now?" Ara' Sei asked.

"Plan's the same, execution's going to be far more difficult. Expect guards, mercenaries, and bounty hunters to be after us by the time an hour's passed.

"Why would he wait before trying to kill us?" Ella asked.

"He has a twisted way of having fun. Not only that, but it's to prove a point, probably. He's planning something, as I said." Eris answered.

"Well, let's get moving then." Ara' Sei said. The group walked as quickly as they could without drawing much attention. Eris frantically searched for anything that could help, particularly coded messages.

"That's them!" The group looked around to see a civilian pointing at the group, and a squadron of guards next to them. Zerai muttered an incantation and his body began to glow as his sword manifested. Cedric transformed back into his normal form. All of the other civilians gasped and stepped away, watching through nearby windows and alleys.

"So much for a safe haven." Cedric whispered.
