Converging Destinies: Part 1

Chapter 76

       The leader of the slavers dismounted from his mount, and prepared a massive, dark greatsword.

       "We have unfinished business." He said, before charging forward. As he was charging, a dagger flew from behind a rock and lodged itself below the man's arm. The man pointed his finger at Eris, where the dagger had flown from and a blast of black fire hurled itself at Eris. Eris stepped to the side just in time to avoid the full force of the blast.

       Then, the man raised his hands out, and ethereal shadows began to drip from them. Ella, Eris, and Ara' Sei all seized up as ethereal shadows wrapped around them. No amount of physical strength could break the restraints the man had put upon them.

       The man stepped up to Ella and plunged the blade several inches into her stomach. Then, he twisted the blade and pushed it two inches deeper simultaneously. He kicked her body off of the blade and she fell to the ground.

       Ara' Sei's body flashed and the ethereal shadows were pushed off of her. Her eyes darted to Ella's body and her eyes widened in horror.

       The three wolves charged forward. One upon Eris, one upon Zerai, and one upon Ara' Sei.

       The jaws of one clamped onto Eris' neck, and they were too helpless to do anything about it. Zerai sidestepped out of the way just in time before he was bitten. The third clamped onto Ara' Sei's shoulder.

       After sidestepping the attack, Zerai ran towards the slaver leader with his blade in hand. The man parried Zerai's first strike, but the second grazed the man's arm. Zerai's blade flashed with energy, and Ella's wound began to magically mend.

       Cedric raised his hand to the sky, and muttered under his breath. With an emerald flash, a small storm formed above the fight, crackling with lightning. A bolt of lightning struck the slavers' leader. Unfortunately, the man grunted in pain before giving Cedric a death glare. With horror, the man realized that he had lost his grip on the spell, and had let Ella and Eris free.

       Eris took their other dagger out, and then with a flash of blue they were behind the man in dark armor.

       "Hey." They said, before they plunged the dagger into the man's back.

       Ara' Sei raised her hand towards the man in dark armor. She let a beacon build within her fingertips. The power built, her arm shook, the beacon flew. With a swing of his blade, the man sent the beacon slamming into the rock wall behind him that the portal sat within.

       Ella stood up from the ground. As she got up, she swung her blade in an upwards arc. It grazed the man's arm. Then, she brought her blade around and into the man's leg. After which she thrust her blade forward. But, the blade was deflected. After reaffirming her grip on her blade, she tried again. This time, the blade plunged several inches into the man's stomach.

       "Ha! My turn!" Ella said, twisting the blade in the man's stomach. All of the hell hounds turned their heads towards the battle going on around the man in dark armor, and they all charged. One went for each of the people that had surrounded the man. Then, the man vanished with a flash of red light.
