The next day, all of them felt the familiar feeling of heightened resilience and magical capability. Early in the morning, Cedric provided the group with breakfast and they gathered.
"So, we've got a couple magical things, but we don't know what they do." Zerai said.
"Yeah, we should probably find a way to figure that out." Eris said.
"How would one figure out what a magic item does?" Ara' Sei asked.
"Well, you'd need a decent arcanist to cast a spell on it. To find a decent arcanist, we'll probably want to get to one of the larger cities in the world." Eris said.
"I'm fairly certain Erathir is nearby, right?" Zerai asked.
"We don't want to go there. They hate elves and orcs. The only people who would really be safe there are Ara' Sei and Ella." Cedric said.
"Okay, in which case there's also Point Nordis." Zerai said.
"Did anyone see any arcane institutions there?" Cedric asked. No one spoke up.
"What else is there?" Ella asked.
"There's Point Sathus." Ara' Sei said. All of them looked at her.
"I've heard of the place, is it big?" Eris asked.
"It's massive. I lived North of there when I was younger. It's the only port with decent access to Saidon, and I know they regularly traded with Oakholme and Oarshear as well. It's at least as large as Erathir and Point Nordis, if not bigger." Ara' Sei said.
"Hmm, but it's on the Southernmost tip of Theros, how are we going to get there?" Zerai asked.
"Cedric could teleport us at least part of the way there." Eris said. Cedric had closed his eyes and was whispering.
"If my memory serves me right, the closest I could get us to there is Cresselbrooke. Even then, it's still quite a ways away." Cedric said.
"You do have a good point, Cresselbrooke is hundreds of miles away from Point Sathus." Ara' Sei said.
"I've never been there, I wouldn't mind going, we've made large journeys like this before." Cedric said.
"Is there any way to get even a vague idea what these items do?" Ella asked.
"Well, one of the things I got is a stone tablet." Ara' Sei said. She took out the tablet.
It was made of gray stone, and it had been decorated with paint that appeared to be made from jewel dust, as it glittered in whatever light filled the cavern. It had words written across it. While the words were in a strange font, it was written in Common, and so everyone knew how to read it.
"What does it say?" Zerai asked.
"Upon the sea to the South, you shall find the greatest key. Deep within death's mouth, you shall find the melody. If you will accept its call, then the truth is what you'll see. If you fully heed this message, you shall be the lord of all." Ara' Sei read. Everyone gawked at her with wide eyes. Eris took out a journal and something to write with.
"Can you pass that tablet over?" They asked. Ara' Sei passed the tablet over. Then, they recorded it down into their journal.
"What the heck does that all mean?" Ella asked.
"I'm not sure, but I get a sneaking suspicion it's somewhat true."
