Cedric muttered a word under his breath, and Eris' body flashed with emerald light. As the light faded, many of their wounds had mended over. The dragon growled and began to tear into Eris.

The jaw lunged forward, and it clamped around Eris. Then, the dragon stomped on Eris with its claws. Eris rolled away as best as they could, but their blood was now spilling out onto the ground, and a wave of dizziness impacted them.

Suddenly, Zerai's body flashed with light and he stood up off the ground. Then, he grasped his blade and slashed into the dragon. The dragon winced back and shut its eyes from the flash of golden light.

Zerai plunged the blade into the dragon. Then, as he slashed again, the blade flashed with violet light, and as the sword carved through, it met no resistance, as if it were making the dragon's flesh disappear as it carved through.

Brie carved the same glyph into the air again, trying to remember how she had hit the dragon previously. The ray slammed into the dragon, and it stumbled back. Its tail slammed down onto Zerai, and Zerai was sent reeling back.

Ara' Sei stood up and pointed her hand up at the dragon. She let the light flow into her arm and released it in another beam of pale light that turned the entire battlefield white. The dragon once again roared in pain as the beam struck it.

Then, Ella ran forward with her blade. She was running with all her momentum but the blade skimmed off the armor like scales.

Eris muttered a word and vanished for a brief moment. They reappeared on top of the dragon's back, with their dagger at the ready. Then, they plunged the dagger into the base of the dragon's neck. They pushed it further and further in until it was beyond the hilt within the dragon. They felt the dagger hit bone but continued to push it in.

The dragon roared in agony and brought its tail over its back to whip Eris while they were on the back of the dragon. Eris barely managed to hand onto the dragon.

The storm cloud crackled with blue electricity before the dragon was struck in the head by lightning. Then, Cedric muttered a word beneath his breath and Ara' Sei glowed with emerald light.

Then, the throat of the dragon began to glow with violet light. Ara' Sei's eyes began to widen as she realized what was about to happen. Then, tears poured from her eyes as her, Ella, and Zerai were consumed by the flames.

The flames faded. Both Ella and Zerai lay as burnt, withered corpses. Tears poured from Ara' Sei's eyes. Cedric's eyes widened in horror as the realization hit him. Brie's hands fell to her side as she also realized what happened.

Ara' Sei stood up as the shadow creatures began to form. She pointed her hand directly upwards and let every last bit of light she could muster flow into her hand. Then the beam blasted upwards through the dragon.

The dragon's roar faded as it turned to dust. Eris fell off the dragon and to the ground. Strangely, it was Ara' Sei's second time being coated in the dust of a slain dragon. She snapped her fingers and the dust flew from her.

Her eyes lay upon the two corpses of Ella and Zerai. She pulled out her last diamond that she had for such a purpose.

Brie, Cedric, and Eris, all had their eyes on her, crying with a diamond in her hand. She had to act fast, or the spell couldn't work. A tense, silent moment passed.

"I'm sorry." Ara' Sei whispered as she walked towards Zerai's corpse. She placed her hand on the blackened corpse of Zerai and muttered the incantation. A bright silhouette of Zerai glowed vibrantly with pale light, and the corpse was transformed into a living, breathing Zerai.

Ara' Sei broke down into sobs as she embraced him, shaking her head repeatedly.

"What happened?" Zerai asked. He looked around, and followed everyone's eyes to Ella's corpse that lay on the ground not far over. Her blade was the only unharmed piece of her that remained.

"Do you have any?" Zerai asked. Ara' Sei shook her head. Zerai merely returned the gesture, and rose to a standing position.

All of them stood there around the dead body of Ella, they merely stared. For at the moment, that was all they could do.
