Lyra exited out the front door to see Ella laughing hysterically.
"What's so funny?" Lyra asked sternly.
"Just the things coming out of their mouths!" Ella replied said.
"That massive sword you've got, do you know how to use it?" Lyra asked. Ella glanced at her greatsword.
"Oh this, of course!" Ella said, taking her sword in her hands. Lyra glanced at the sword, then at Ella's massive muscles.
"You've had to use that sword, haven't you?" Lyra asked.
"Oh, plenty." Ella said. Lyra was taken aback.
"Hmm, I see you're going to be more honest with me. Ara' Sei's always been secretive, and she's always had a way with words. What have you all really been doing?" Lyra asked.
"Oh, where do you want me to begin?" Ella asked, putting her sword back.
"The beginning, shorten down what you all have been up to." Lyra said.
"Alright, I'll do my best." Ella said. Then, she took a deep breath.
"I have one condition, when Ara' Sei gets mad at me for this, you'll have my back." Ella said.
"It's a deal." Lyra replied. Ella took another deep breath.
"Everyone but Zerai met in Cresselbrooke. There we fought some necromancer and his weird shadow things that he brought back from the dead, then we went to Duskholme and met Zerai. There... I think we fought a slavers guild and committed arson. Then, we stole a ship and sent to Point Frost to stop a demon incursion. Then, we went back South to Point Nordis to get a diamond. Then, we went into this dwarven mine and underground temple to find this wand that fired explosions. After that, we went to Oarshear and met Eris' old teacher who stole the wand and tried to stage a coup. We fought off the coup. Finally, we went back to the Northern Woods to slay a dragon and steal its treasure. We got a lot of cool things so now we're going to Point Sathus to see what they are." Ella explained. Not even halfway in Lyra's jaw had dropped.
"You all fought? But... how did they fight, none of the other people had weapons." Lyra commented.
"They aren't like me, they don't need weapons to fight." Ella said. Lyra pondered for a moment, then her eyes widened.
"Magic?" Lyra asked in a whisper.
"Yup." Ella replied. A moment of silence passed where the color gradually returned to Lyra's face.
"You know what's strange, it's not that shocking that Ara' Sei has magic. She's always been secretive and able to pull things off that didn't seem possible. Do you know something? I didn't give her the name Ara' Sei. When she was born, we called her Marianne, after my grandmother. But, one day when she was four, she went out into the fields to play, and when she came back, she told me her name was Ara' Sei. She wouldn't answer to the name I'd given her. Magic, huh. How powerful is she?" Lyra asked. Ella thought for a moment.
"She's powerful. I don't really have much to compare her to. A few days ago, we were attacked by bandits while we were sleeping. She shouted some word, and just like that, all of them were just locked in place. Their eyes were glowing, they didn't fight at all when we knocked them out. And she did that with just one word. Back in Oarshear, she sprouted angelic wings. I don't know how to say it, but your daughter is very, very powerful." Ella said.
"Goodness. What kind of magic do you all have?" Lyra asked.
"I've got this, the best magic of all. It can solve any problem, provided that problem can be cut to death." Ella said, tapping on the hilt of her blade.
"Heh. I've learned a lot today. Not sure I wanted to, but I asked for it. Thank you, Ella, and don't worry, I don't care what magic she waves at you. I will defend you." Lyra said with a laugh.
"Alright!" Ella replied. Then, Lyra went off to the garden to collect food for her guests.
