"I'm not sure what I can do at the moment, but I'll know what to do when the time comes." Brie said.

Ara' Sei could barely see the shape of the creature far below the waves, however her previous hits had faintly illuminated it. She charged another beacon, this one with far less energy than the previous ones. Then, she let it loose from her fingertips.

Unfortunately, the beacon hit the hardest point on the creature's shell harmlessly.

Zerai continued to wait beneath the water, patiently waiting for the creature to move closer. The creature did, but it still wasn't close enough.

"It's barely out of range." Zerai said.

Ella continued waiting nervously on the ship. Then, Cedric had an idea.

"I can turn into an animal and continued to focus on the spell, so I'll be flying above." Cedric said. Then, he turned into a massive eagle and flew about sixty feet above the ship, high above Ara' Sei.

Eris and Brie also continued waiting in their respective positions.

Ara' Sei fired another beacon at the dark shape far below. However, it just barely sailed wide.

Then, the creature finally moved close enough for Zerai to strike. Three bolts of light flew towards it. However, all of them bounced off the creature's thick hide.

Now, the creature was uncomfortably close, not even a hundred feet away. Its head was about twelve feet long alone, and its maw was now open wide. It had a massive, spiked shell, and four limbs tipped with massive claws. It was clear that this creature was larger than the ship the group had bought.

Now, Ella leapt over board and began swimming towards the creature with her blade. From above, Ara' Sei could see the creature moving closer to the surface.

Cedric continued to soar above it all, and he watched the creature slowly approach the boat. He began to feel queasy in his eagle form, and he nervously focused on keeping the weather under control.

Eris carved a glyph, which they could do even underwater. Then, a massive, blue bolt of lightning flashed towards the creature. The sheer volume of the sound underwater made them dizzy. Thankfully, the arcane nature of the lightning bolt prevented anyone from being electrocuted.

The creature roared with pain as the bolt of lightning slammed into it.

Brie leapt overboard, and could now fully see the creature. She carved a small, pale blue glyph into the air, and a ray of pale blue light rushed towards one of the creature's fins. The water around Brie was cooled down a noticeable degree.

But, her hands were shaking, and she was hyperventilating at the sight of the creature before her.

Ara' Sei could now see the creature below more clearly, and she charged another beacon to her fingertips. Her arm was now in searing pain from the repeated channelling of her power, but she steeled herself through the feeling. Finally, she had landed a successful hit.

Zerai pointed his blade at the creature and muttered an incantation. But, whatever he was trying to do ended up failing, and he cursed in a whispered tone.

The creature opened its maw and a flurry of bubbling, boiling water erupted towards Ella, Eris, and Zerai.

Ella was able to hold her composure despite the boiling water that engulfed her. However, Eris and Zerai flailed as a burning sensation encircled their bodies. Their muscles tensed, and Eris barely managed to hold onto their dagger.

Ella managed to make it to the dragon, and she began to carve at it. However, with the immense drag of the water around her, only one of her strikes had enough force to carve into it.

The battle against the dragon turtle had truly begun.
