When morning came, Cedric provided the meal. It was pitch black, and most of them could barely see one another. Once Cedric gave the group food and water. After which, the group snuck from the little nook that Cedric had previously created. They had no idea if it was actually morning, but for now it had to be. The group went through the door and went down another couple flights of stairs.
When they had gone past the stairs, they went into a short hall that contained an archway. The archway had red symbols inscribed across it.
"The Flame can be yours, if you pass the final threshold." He read.
"This is probably going to be the final chamber, where we'll find 'The Flame'. Get ready." Eris said. They closed their eyes and inscribed a glyph on their chest, after which their body shimmered a faint bluish color.
Then, the group went through the archway.
The room before them was the largest yet. Glowing symbols and lines ran through the chamber. It was fifty feet wide, and three hundred feet long. All of the lines ran towards the other end of the chamber. On the other end of the chamber, there were two pyramids. One extended from the ceiling and one extended from the floor. In the gap between them was a pulsing, glowing source of light.
"That must be The Flame." Zerai said.
"It seems to be connected to the rest of the chamber. I think whatever happens, that thing is fueling it." Eris said.
"What are you trying to say?" Cedric asked.
"I'm saying that if we could pry it from that space, everything in the room will probably die down." Eris said.
"Who can do that?" Ara' Sei asked.
"I could turn into an eagle." Cedric said.
"I can make it so we can fly." Zerai said.
"The flight spell will probably be easier. The one's flying should be me, Ella, and Zerai. Ara' Sei, Cedric, you okay being on the ground?" Eris asked. The two nodded in response.
"Okay, who's ready?" Ella said with a smile. Zerai placed his hands on Ella and Eris, and spectral wings grew from their backs. As everyone entered the room, Cedric's ears perked up as he heard a faint hum. Looking behind him, the door had been sealed over by stone that was covered in glyphs.
"Uh, guys." He said. Suddenly, the lines and glyphs throughout the room glowed ever brighter, flashing to life. On the far half of the room, three lines ran across the floor. Three, tall walls of flame sprung up from the floor. And through the walls, emerged six of the flaming figures that the group had become familiar with fighting.
In an instant, Eris and Zerai took off. Eris' supernatural speed on the ground translated well when they had wings. They quickly flew over the first wall of flame. Zerai wasn't far behind, but he still hadn't made it to the first wall.
Ara' Sei stepped forward. She pointed a finger at one of the figures and let a beacon build. As her hand began to shake, she released the beacon. It slammed into one of the figures' shoulders, but beyond that it had little effect.
Cedric stepped forward, but he wasn't sure what to do. He placed his hand upon Ella.
"Okay Ella, good luck." He said. He muttered a few words, and an emerald glow flowed from his arms into Ella.
"Oh, thanks for... whatever that was. Bye!" Ella shouted as she took off and flew towards the other side of the room.
The figures moved with terrifying speed toward Ara' Sei and Cedric.
"I really hope Eris is right." Ara' Sei said.
"They will be, I trust them." Cedric said.
Eris had flown across the entire room in little over ten seconds. The object between the two pyramids appeared to be a glowing, golden wand of some kind. But, just as they thought they had it, the wand crackled with energy. With a low boom, a wave of crackling red energy rushed across the entire three hundred foot room, slamming into the entire group with the force of a charging bull.
