The party took a moment to breathe, then, when they were all confident that there was no danger, they went to sleep. As they woke up, they felt the now familiar feeling of added strength. They were undoubtedly stronger now that they had faced a perilous journey and a perilous foe. Right after the group woke up, they conversed.
"So, quick question? What in the world are we facing?" Eris asked. Zerai pondered for a moment, before an idea came to his mind.
"Whatever that thing was, I can see now that it's turned to sludge. This means that uh... that was either a demon or a devil." Zerai said with terror.
"What on earth are they doing in Point Frost?!" Eris asked frantically.
"It all makes sense now." Ara' Sei declared out of nowhere. The whole group looked at her.
"The reason my visions guided me here. We are going to have to fight things like this. This is what I am meant to face." Ara' Sei said confidently.
"Very well." Zerai said.
"So, what now?" Cedric asked.
"We should probably get into the town, preferably not having to fight a bunch of fiends on the way there. We need to be ready for stealth." Eris said. Cedric nodded, noting what he would need for the coming day.
"But, we might have no choice." Ella said. Zerai nodded.
"We need to be prepared to fight, even if we would rather not. We need to find out what the state of the town is, and how they've been handling it thus far. They're probably the ones Ara' Sei's visions guided us to help." Zerai said. Ara' Sei nodded in response.
"So, I should prepare magic for fighting, stealth, and the usual survival stuff?" Cedric asked
"I think that's all." Zerai confirmed. Cedric then took a deep breath and began to meditate, now having to suddenly regather his druidic power.
"When we get there, what should we do?" Ella asked.
"We seriously need to find the survivors." Ara' Sei answered.
"Yup. However, we should also figure out why there are fiends in Point Frost." Zerai added. Ara' Sei nodded in response.
"So the schedule is get into Point Frost and figure things out?" Eris asked.
"You got it!" Zerai answered enthusiastically. After a couple hours, Cedric had finished his meditation and had prepared the group's first meal of the day.
"Okay, is everyone ready?" Cedric asked quietly. Everyone nodded.
"Stay close." Cedric whispered. He held his hands together and muttered an incantation. A faint emerald shimmer briefly surrounded the group. All of them immediately noticed that their feet didn't leave footprints on the snowy ice. The group slowly crept towards the now hostile town of Point Frost. As they approached, they could see strange creatures on the periphery. The group slipped in between broken buildings and structures. They occasionally spotted demons not unlike the one they had faced yesterday prowling around. Many of the structures in the town itself had been burned down.
Quickly, it became evident, a dreadful question ringing in all of their minds. Was anyone left, had they all died? Was the group too late? And finally, what would they do now that they were hundreds of miles from any other land if there were no survivors.
