Cedric and Eris returned to the same tavern the day after. Eris once again communicated using their code, and was able to meet with the one who had hired them.

After presenting the lock of hair and the mysterious book, Eris received their payment. They briefly checked it, before thanking the one who had hired them, hiding the gold, and then leaving.

Once Eris got back to the inn, they immediately found Ara' Sei in her room alongside Ella.

"Ara' Sei, I've got money." Eris said, before presenting the bag of gold coins. Ara' Sei's face lit up.

"Oh, thank you Eris. How much did you get?" She asked.

"Five hundred, gold." Eris responded. Ella's jaw dropped.

       "Nice haul friend!" She said.

"Well, if it's okay, I'm going to need about three hundred of it for the diamond. When I buy it, I'll want someone to accompany me, but I can wait a little. The remaining two hundred you can split between everyone other than me." Ara' Sei said. Eris nodded in response.

The three spent the next hour dividing up the gold and giving it to everyone in the group. Ara' Sei got three hundred, while the rest got fifty each. Ara' Sei was the one who gave the fifty gold to Zerai.

       "What's this?" He asked.

"Eris just earned some money. I need three hundred for my diamond, but they earned more than just three hundred. Everyone else gets fifty gold as well." Ara' Sei explained.

"Oh, alright." He said, accepting his gold.

       "Thank you." He said.

"You're welcome." Ara' Sei replied. But, just as she was she started leaving the room, Zerai spoke again.

"Wait. I figured that since we're now in a city, and I have some money, what would you think about going shopping together?" He asked.

"Oh, sure, I'd love that! When?" Ara' Sei asked.

       "Does tonight work?" He asked.

"Of course. How about three hours from now, before a lot of the stores close." Ara' Sei said.

"Good thinking, I'm looking forward to it." He said. Then, she left the room. A multitude of thoughts were racing through her head. What should she buy? Should she buy armor? Would he want to buy it? What did she want to buy? She definitely didn't want to buy the diamond yet. She decided to leave the three hundred gold with Ella in the room, and take what little remaining gold she had with her.

Three hours passed, and there was a knock on the door.

"Zerai, is that you?" Ara' Sei asked.

"Yeah, are you ready?" He asked.

"I suppose." Ara' Sei said. Then, the two left the inn. Following the sounds of the large city, they were able to find themselves in a massive market square within half an hour. The square was open, the sides of it lined with bookstores, inns, restaurants, taverns, and other various shops. Within the square itself, countless vendors' stalls had been set up.

"So, where do you want to go first?" Zerai asked.

"I uh, oh my goodness I have no idea there's too many choices." Ara' Sei said.

"Alright, how does clothes sound?" Zerai asked. He pointed to one of the buildings, where clothes were displayed in the window.

"Sure!" Ara' Sei responded. The two walked in. Ara' Sei could hardly contain her excitement, she finally had a moment of peace to herself. But she was worried, when would it all fall away. When would her burdens catch up with her again? Then, she raised her head. No, she wouldn't worry about those right now. Right now, she was here with Zerai, and she was enjoying herself. Right now, she was happy.
