Cedric's body glowed with golden light as Zerai was the first to act in order to heal him. Eris ran over to Cedric as he awakened.
"Are you okay?" Eris asked. Cedric nodded, picking up his wand. With a snap of Ara' Sei's fingers, Cedric's body flashed, and the dust in his wounds was cleaned out magically.
"I wonder what this dragon was doing here." Brie asked.
"Yeah, we've been here for so long and that's the first thing we've seen. I didn't get to do anything but this is the least bored I've been in a while." Ella said.
"This means this isn't just an endless empty desert. There's something out there somewhere." Cedric said.
"Yeah, things like this don't just come from nowhere." Eris added.
"Does anyone remember which direction it came from?" Zerai asked.
"If I recall correctly, it was that way." Eris said, pointing off into the distance.
"Yeah, they're right, I remember them coming from that direction as well." Brie said.
"Then, we're going that way. It'll probably be dangerous, so going forward we'll want to be prepared for battle." Zerai said.
"Yeah, that dragon hurt." Cedric said.
"Cedric, can you cast that spell that helps you search for things, just in case there's something nearby we're missing." Eris requested.
"Sure, give me just a minute." Cedric said, placing his hands upon the ground. After a minute, he opened his eyes. He shook his head.
"No, nothing." Cedric said.
"Weird." Eris said.
"Okay, well, let's get going now, I don't think there are any other dragons anywhere nearby." Brie said.
The group continued moving forward, now more prepared for any fighting that would await them.
The next day, Brie studied her spellbook, particularly the spell that allowed her to create explosions not unlike Cedric did using the wand. Cedric meditated to better be prepared for any combat that would await the group.
The seventh, eighth, and ninth days were a return to the same travel throughout the desert, but the monotony was starting to become broken.
Pieces of bone were visible jutting from the dunes every now and then. However, it was difficult to tell what they were bones of. Other times, a piece of stone would be sticking out from the ground.
By the tenth day, there was always some strange difference in sight, whether it be bones, stones, or other oddity. However, beyond the dragon, there weren't any signs of life along the journey besides them.
On the eleventh day however, the group hit a horrible realization. Just as before, they saw a shape in the distant sky. But now, it was far more massive than before.
"Ummm." Ella said.
"How are we going to fight this?" Ara' Sei asked. Cedric immediately pulled out his wand. Eris pulled out their daggers.
"Let's split up a bit again. Last time, we did a good job of making it difficult to hit us with its breath weapon." Eris said.
As the monster came nearer, it was clear it was different in appearance than the one the group had fought previously.
Cedric placed a hand on Brie and her body glowed with emerald light briefly.
"What's this?" She asked.
"That'll help you if it decides to go for you." Cedric said.
Just like that, the group was forced into another battle out in the desert on another plane.
