The group fell asleep in the basement chamber before waking up some amount of hours later.
Cedric created food and water before leaving it on a napkin. Eris and Cedric had breakfast before they left the chambers. Right before they emerged into the main chamber of the main cathedral, Eris disguised themself as a human man. Cedric hid in Eris' hood as a squirrel.
When the two emerged, sunrise was a few minutes away. Eris checked in with Roya before going out into the town. The town was just beginning to wake up, the smell of food from bakeries began to waft out into the air. The cool night air growing ever warmer as the sun rose.
Eris wasn't entirely sure what they were going to have to look for, but they knew they had to be more careful than last time. Thankfully, Cedric was there, and they felt far safer.
Eris decided to go and buy bread, then they snuck into an alleyway. They silently ate the bread away from prying eyes.
"Sorry Cedric, it's just the berries you make get kind of old when you've been eating them for three weeks straight." Eris whispered.
Soon, Eris felt like they had to do something useful. They were the only person besides Cedric that could journey out of the safe haven that the group had found.
Then, an idea came along. Eris wasn't sure how it would be useful, but they would do it just in case.
"Sorry Cedric, but I'm going to take a bit of a risk." Eris whispered. Then, they set out back into the town.
Every now and then, they would duck into an alley to refresh their disguise. They were nearing the center of the town.
Eris remembered that their former teacher had grown close to the clerics of Atheira. Maybe they could find something useful by sneaking into the cathedral of Atheira and listening in on what was happening.
When they were near the cathedral, Eris ducked into an alley and cast a spell. But this time, instead of taking on a disguise, they went entirely invisible.
At this time of day, the cathedral was open to worshippers and visitors, and thus the doors were open.
Eris slipped in without issue. The inside of the cathedral was even more massive than the cathedral to Solan. The walls of this cathedral were lined with bookshelves as opposed to stained glass windows. At the other end was an altar, where Eris could see worshippers praying. Standing on a podium was an old man who Eris recognized. It was one of the people who had helped Aaron interrogate them.
Eris took a deep, quiet breath before creeping closer to the altar.
Occasionally, they would glance at the books within the bookshelves. They were historical textbooks and analyses. Many of which were about the war between Sathun and Norda 150 years prior. However, nothing appeared to be of use.
For the next few hours, Eris hid in an alleyway, waiting for the light to fade. Then, they put their disguise back up, and began heading back.
Suddenly, that same blue glow emanated from the same high tower. Looking back, Eris immediately realized it.
"It's coming from the cathedral of Atheira." Eris whispered. Everyone had turned to look at the glowing tower.
"In the name of Atheira, and Aaron Servilus, all other officials must step down. Atheira has chosen Aaron Servilus to be the rightful ruler of Oarshear, any resistance shall be met with violence." The voice echoed through the city. Individuals began glancing at each other apprehensively.
"Oh, so that's what you've been planning." Eris whispered to themself. They hurried towards the cathedral of Solan. Their friends needed to hear about this, for Aaron's plan was now clearly in motion.
