Skylee P.O.VI put my hair up in a high ponytail and brushed them. Putting the hairbrush back on the table, I looked at myself in the mirror. I had worn blue shorts which displayed my long legs with black sneakers and a white one-shoulder-off top that had a cute kitten print on the front, a minimal amount of my regular makeup and I was ready to go.
I picked my bag and trudged downstairs. A frown appeared on my face when I saw my two bodyguards were having breakfast causally. They had adjusted themselves here as if they owned this house. I made my way towards the dining table.
"Number 1 and Number 2!" I said, grabbing the attention of the rest of the two people whom I bluntly ignored.
"Good Morning, Skylee." Rosalyn smiled at me warmly and added, "Come, eat your breakfast then we will leave for school together."
People like her were so kind and sweet that you couldn't ignore them. But then again, it wasn't her fault that he was her twin brother.
"Good Morning to you too and thank you but I'm not hungry." I smiled back at her and then turned my attention back at my bodyguards, ignoring a particular person who was eyeing me with keen interest and making my heartbeat a bit faster. "We are leaving right now," I said to them.
"But Miss, you should eat something first. Ma'am Octavia won't like this if you leave without eating anything." Number 1 reasoned out, putting the coffee mug on the table.
"Your Ma'am Octavia and Asli are not here and I will kill you if you dare to tell them anything. Besides, I don't want to eat anything in someone's house, we'll buy something on the way." I glared at them. They both exchanged looks before stood up and nodded. Probably they understood I was angry and there was no point in arguing right now.
"What does that mean?" Rosalyn asked me and glared at him.
"Skylee, sit down and eat your breakfast. It's the most important meal of the day you can't skip it." Cactus said. He called me by name for the first time and was he showing concern for me? It could be mesmerizing only if things were different and I hadn't made my mind.
I ignored him.
Rosalyn must have noticed the tension in the air as she again asked, "What happened, Skylee? Did he again do something? Tell me."
"It's nothing. I'll meet you at the school. Bye." I assured her with a smile and made my way out of the house, followed by my bodyguards.
Once I sat inside the car, they both looked at me and I passed them a skeptical look.
"Drive," I said and put my headphone over my head, and turned the play button to hear whatever song was playing. They both again exchanged looks but didn't say anything, and soon our car started to move.
Heart Beats Fast
Colors and promises
How to be brave?
How can I love when I'm afraid to fall?
And I put it down from my head and threw it beside me. Then turned my head to look outside the hustle-bustle of the city to distract my mind more like my stupid heart.
