"Maybe we can message each other.... I'll be back.... I promise I'll be back." Xiumin said to our group.

"It's gonna be hard, Hyung, but we can deal..." D.O. said.

"I'll miss you...." Came Kai's response.

Everyone had their say, everyone said goodbye.

But I stayed quiet, I couldn't let him go, he didn't know, but I think I'm in love with him...

"Chen?" Minnie's voice came over my cloud.

"What?" I ask. Had he been talking to me?

"I'll be back, I promise." He smiled at me.

"You can never promise with the army, Minsoek..." I didn't look at him.

"Nothing is going to happen to me, Chen. I'll be safe." He said, messing my hair.

"I'm gonna miss you Hyung." I smile at him.

"Bye!" He called behind him.

We waved and tried to be happy.

-Hey, what's up, Chen?-

The first text came in.

-Nothing much, just trying to find something fun to do...-

I sent.

-sounds fun-

-too boring without you here...-

-It's boring here too...-

-stupid military service-

-don't say that, you know you'd be here if you were old enough-

-but I'd have to leave Exo for a few years...-

-But you'd still do it, Chen- he reasoned.

-maybe so, but it doesn't make me happy that we are Exo 11 right now-

-I'll be back, don't worry-

-I believe you, Xiumin-

That's how the conversation went. I had a feeling he was mad at me for downing the military service.

But they took him from Exo! I hate them because of it.

Two years later-

"Chen!" Tao yelled to me.

"Yea?" I asked.

"Chen, come down here..." he demanded. "Now, come now..."

I left what I was doing in my room and went downstairs.

"What's up?" I ask.

No one said anything. I looked around at them, they all had sad faces.

"Hello?" I ask.

"Chen, Xiumin got shot... he's coming home but we don't know how far the injury is... he may not be able to be in Exo anymore..." Kris explained.

"What?! Wh-where was he sh-shot?"

"Calm down, Chen. We will go see him in the hospital." D.O. said. "He may not be able to walk again... let alone dance."

"He'll walk, he wouldn't let that take over him, he wouldn't let it win," I growl.

One week later-

I exit the elevator quickly, I can't wait to see him.

When I walk into his room, he's asleep in the bed.

Two years away from him has been torture. He looks years older than he actually is, but still handsome. The feeling I get when I see him hasn't faltered to appear.

"Stop staring, Chen, and give me a hug." His musical voice sounds.

"Minsoek..." I fall into his arms.

"I'll be okay, Chen, I told you I'd be back." He smirked.

"You didn't say you'd be shot!" I said.

"That's a minor detail. I'll be back in Exo in no time."

"But, you can't walk..." I pointed out.

"I'll walk... you think I'd let this hold me back?" He asked.

"How'd it happen, Minnie?"

"Well, I don't really remember... But it was a misunderstanding." He assured.

"I have to tell you something..." We both said. "You go first."

"Go," I said.

"While I was out there, all I worried about was you... I was worried you'd be too worried about me... I know how you are with me... You're a good friend, Chen." He smirked. "What did you need to say?"

"Just that I worried about you while you were gone..." I lied.

"I knew you did." He laughed. "I'll get through this. I promise."

"I will too..." I mumbled. I'll get over this rejection sooner or later...

"What was that?" He asked.

"I'll help you, I said that I would help you." I lied again.
