Take it or Leave it (Chunji)

Written by AmberHansen8

*Your POV*

"Will you accept?"

"I don't know..."

"You've got only one chance. Either take it or leave it."

I didn't know what to do. Chunji, one of the school kingas, was giving me a choice any girl in the school wanted. He wanted me as his girlfriend. Well, fake girlfriend. Chunji said it benefited both of us. If I agreed, it would get the girls to leave him alone and he would in turn protect me from the bullies.

"I....well...I..." I stuttered.

"Take it or leave it," Chunji repeated.

My heart pounded in my chest. "You'll do everything you promised?"

Chunji nodded. "I will."

I thought about it. Fought out the pros and cons in my head. The pros seemed to outdo the cons.

"I'll do it," I finally answered.

Chunji gave me a smile that my heart go crazy. "I'll see you later. Maybe at lunch."

As I went off to my fourth-hour class, I thought back over what had happened. Had I really agreed to be his pretend girlfriend? I sighed and took my seat. I was thankful it was a window seat. A minute or two before class started, I got my books out. I had just finished placing them on the desk when someone backhanded me. I looked up to see Ching Lan standing there. As usual, she had on way too much makeup and had shortened her uniform skirt.

"Can I help you?" I asked with a slight smile that my cheek hurt. That was thanks to the ring I saw she was wearing.

"You stay away from Chunji oppa. You're the nerd girl and he is above your status," Ching Lan answered with her Chinese accent.

My life had been fine in middle school. But then I got to high school and she came. The only reason Ching Lan was here was due to her being in the student exchange program. I always wondered how she got into it. This year was senior year and she was still here. That meant she had been bullying me for what was now four years.

"Someone has a crush? How cute. I can't do much. He's the one that asked me out, not the other way around. Not my fault," I told her.

"He what!" Ching Lan shouted.

Thank you for drawing the attention of the entire class I informed her mentally. I watched as she processed what I had told her. This probably wasn't going to end well for me. Thankfully, the teacher came in and Ching Lan was forced to go to her seat. I was safe for now. I sat through class and tried to put what had happened with her out of my mind. When class ended, I shoved my things into my bag and rushed off in search of a place to hide until the warning bell rang for the next class. I ended up choosing the bathroom that no one ever used. I sat there and just waited. Finally, after four minutes, the warning bell finally rang and I left the bathroom. I turned to go to class, but one of Ching Lan's minions was blocking my way. Well, this wasn't going to be pretty.
