And just like that, an epic final battle was in place. Super Infinite, with the help of all the energy he has accumulated prior, as well as throughout this battle vs. Shadow without his inhibitor rings, thus unleashing his full power. Should Infinite prevail and defeat Shadow in his second most powerful form, his conquering of the planet and demise of the Alliance would be ensured. Everything, the fate of Mobius, the fate of his friends, the fate of billions, it was all in Shadows hands now. It was all up to him.

As the two warriors slowly and astonishingly descended upward toward the darkened skies, the rest of the Alliance could do nothing but watch not only the battle, but their backs as well. In order to keep them off of him, Infinite still commanded legions of clones as he would engage in this climatic spar with Shadow. The reddened storms that plagued the battlefield grew more and more intense the farther Infinite and Shadow floated their way up, giving the setting of this battle a very cinematic vibe.

"This is where it all ends." growled Infinite in an attempt to try and intimidate Shadow.

"For you." Shadow chuckled with a slight smirk, Infinite's menacing threat having no effect on him at all.

Infinite would be the one to throw the first punch, which was easily dodged by Shadow, who whiffed on an attack of his own immediately after. This kicked off a series of several missed blows from the two. Their hands, legs and projectiles fluttered all around the battlefield, some of which nearly even hit the Alliance members fighting below them. It mattered not what style of attack either one of them would try out, nor did it matter how fast it was, where they were aiming or anything of the sort, all of their attacks were either dodged, deflected or just simply missed the mark.

This strange extravaganza of failed attacks was something that went on for several minutes straight. With the fight seemingly on the brink of becoming a stalemate, the two who found themselves in the conflict in question broke apart from each other. After trying out so many different attacks, using so many different methods and approaches, all of which have missed their target, it seemed as if the two were now out of options, seeing as they've pretty much used up their entire arsenal at this point.

The two were now locked in a staredown filled with panting from the two exhausted brawlers, anticipation over who would dish out the next attack would be the only thing on their minds. It had gotten to the point where anything and everything would be easily predicted by the other opponent, only for them to follow up with an equally predictable counter attack. There was quite literally nothing either of them could do anymore.

With the quantity of clones dialing down, mostly courtesy of Infinite's newfound inability to keep up with Shadow whilst providing himself with extra protection, the Alliance could potentially provide Shadow with some extra backup. For if they don't, Shadow and Infinite would be stuck with their equally menacing eyes glued to one another's, assuming either of them make another attempt at anything again.

"Guys, we gotta help Shadow!" said Sonic, now entirely liberated from the swarm of clones he was stuck fighting for nearly a full hour.

"I'm with you!" Blaze had stepped up to play her role in this crucial event, she looked toward Silver and hoped he would do the same.

"Count me in as well!" the silver hedgehog cheered.

"Alright, it's settled." said Sonic. "As for the rest of you, keep fighting off these damn clones. We should be back in erm...a few short minutes. Oh, and Gadget, we'll remember to spare him for ya, bud."

Gadget responded with a heartfelt smile before immediately returning his full attention to the Infinite fakers around him. The very fact that Sonic was able to remember a request of such importance meant a lot to Gadget, and he had hoped that the rest of the Alliance, especially Shadow, would remember as well.
