Shamar, that was the location of the once all mighty and powerful Team Chaotix, now being held captive and forced into labour under Metal Sonic's rule. It was a living hell to say the least. The trio, along with many other unfortunate victims of war, were forced to construct several different buildings and other things necessary to help build and expand Eggman's Empire. Metal Sonic's first order of business was to have a throne room built and a commemorative statue erected for him. The statue would stand tall and proud right in front of what will soon become Metal Sonic's throne room.

Team Chaotix were on statue duty and worked tirelessly, day and night in order to create a giant statue of Metal Sonic in order to suite his massive ego. The sun beamed down on them like they were being cooked alive, and the deadly humidity made matters even worse. They would take anything to get out of this sticky situation, even if it meant the end of their lives. Even death would be a much better fate than this, working in 115 plus degree weather with no breaks and no nutrients of any kind, only to be stroking someone else's ego.

"Man, I tell ya, this blows." complained Vector, slamming his tools onto the ground.

"It was either this or death, Vector." said Espio with a gruff tone.

"Espio, this is death. Actually, it's worse!" shouted Vector impulsively, the heat and constant labour had started to get to his head and infuriated him.

"Keep it down man, you're gonna get us caught!" warned Charmy, looking over Vector's shoulder and making sure no one could hear them.

"And that's why we need to move quickly if we are to escape." said Vector who's anger was dying down in favor of his usual brand of confident swagger.

"Come on now, Vector." groaned Espio. "The city is completely overrun by Eggman's machines, and with Metal Sonic watching over them. And I'm not certain if we could even defeat him in a battle. Not to mention we're in broad daylight, so escaping this place would be even more of a challenge."

"Broad daylight? It's dawn, the sun's gonna be down within the hour." said Vector loudly, alerting the guards, but not enough to where they could decipher what he was saying.

"Then maybe we should wait until then to escape." assured Espio. "Besides, that should give us enough time to--"

"Guys, shut up! The guards are coming." cried Charmy.

"Shit!" growled Vector as he quickly picked his tools back up and began pretending to work.

"Get back to work you three." said one of the guards, slapping his metal baton against his hand.

"What do you mean? Us three are working as hard as ever." chuckled Vector nervously, rubbing the back of his head.

The guard grunted quietly and then whipped Vector in the back of his leg with the baton, forcing Vector to fall to his knees and groan in agony. Only to then have the guard smack him in the head and knock Vector to the ground.

"Get to work. And cease the sarcasm, or I will punish until you're physically unable to work." said the guard as he stood over Vector with authority before stepping back a bit. The guards then stayed right behind Chaotix to make sure none of them disobeyed their orders again.

Vector simply got back up with a menacing frown on his face and went back to his duties. But by the end of the day, him and his comrades were going to be freed from this horrible fate, Vector was sure of it.

Few hours had passed since then and Vector was about ready to execute his plans of escape. He just stared directly at the guards as he worked while having the vision of him and his friends escaping play through his head. He was more than confident that he would help them get out of this horrid enslavement.
