As Sonic and his small squad had their objectives set on finding Eggman, the remaining members of the Alliance were tasked with finishing off the Imperial army. However many there were. The numbers were hardly calculable as abundances of androids, abundances that progressively grew larger, seemed to appear whenever their forces were running low. It's like when one android is destroyed, three more took its place, the cycle was virtually perpetual.

Most of the Alliances soldiers have ultimately perished since Sonics departure, but the squads leaders still fought with all the strength and courage they could muster. By now, the Alliance had reached a point where everything they did was an overexertion. But alas, that didn't stop them from pushing through with their efforts, regardless of the exhaustion and regardless of how overwhelming the situation was.

"Fuck man, I don't know how much longer I can continue..." Jet exhaled as he dropped to his knees.

Every thought, every single bit of energy was completely drained from the hawks body. His muscles were tensed up in the most agonizing way imaginable, his vision was blurry and whatever bit of strength he had left was all but gone. And worst of all,  taking all of those things into account, any sort of body movement was completely restricted. He was immobilized, more than vulnerable to the many hovering androids that were anticipating their easy kill.

"So...this is how it all ends, huh?" Jet sighed as he closed his eyes, titlted his head back and awaited his inevitable death.

As the green hawks fate was coming into fruition, a familiar voice could be heard emanating from the surrounding area. It was Storm the Albatross.

"Boss!" he called out as he stormed to his friends rescue. Looks as if Jets time was not at an end after all.

The muscular, white seabird then proceeded to execute a rather risky act. Moments prior to the attack would've sealed Jets fate, Storm grabbed a hold of the colossals fist as it was being brought down. The sheer amount of force from the attacks velocity forced Storm to struggle quite a bit as he held onto the mechs fist.

"Go! Now! Try and get an attack off on him or something!" ordered Storm, his arched back indicated that he barely had the strength to hold on anymore.

"Storm...I can't...move." Jet huffed. Even though he was a notorious liar and cheapskate, this time he was telling the truth.

"Please! Try! Or else we'll both be killed!"

As the two birds struggled desperately, another beacon of hope came in the form of their purple feathered ally, Wave. Using one of the bombs that hadn't gone off yet, she launched it right at the colossal who threatened her two friends. An entire half of its head was obliterated and the mech, as a whole, ceased function and collapsed. Wave then flew down to reunite with her two comrades, who both shared a thank you for saving their lives.

"Gee, thanks for that. I thought I was gonna be squashed for sure!" Storm chuckled nervously.

"No need to mention it, we gotta stay busy!" Wave alarmed as several more androids circled around them.

"Right! Jet...can you fight?"

"Fight?" Jet snapped half sarcastically. "I already told ya, I can't even move!"

"Damn, that bad, huh?" said Wave as she threw the inital punch. "New plan: protect our boy at all costs!"

"Sounds like a plan!"

Gadget found himself stuck in one small area, one crawling with androids. As he helplessly fired several rounds from whatever guns he could find lying around, he began noticing the casualties pile up beside him exponentially. In fear of possibly being another another statistic on that long list, he desperately looked around while strategizing a way to escape this predicament. His eyes then fell upon his loved one, Zero, who was unfortunately subjected to a similar situation. The two had been separated for so long, seeing him had finally given him the hope he needed. However, they were still separated by a pile of rubble that 'conveniently' formed the shape of a wall.
