Together, all at once, the power quadrant charged after the Egg Wyvern as it nonchalantly hovered in the sky, anticipating the oncoming attack. But the Alliance were soon surprised to find out that their cooperative attack didn't even put a ding in Eggman's massive mech. Instead, they ricocheted off of it like a rubber ball bouncing off the ground. Eggman foresaw this coming, so in his typical villanous manner, he struck a menacing sneer at them, very well under the impression that the quadrant were hopeless against the Wyvern.

"What the hell was that?" Silver exclaimed as him and the others rose to their feet.

"I think Eggman's new wind up toy's got some fancy shield around it." Sonic pondered.

"A shield?" Shadow scoffed, underestimating the shields durability. "It's nothing! We can take the thing down in just a few hits!"

And with Shadows suggestion in mind, the quadrant continued providing futile attacks that seemed to have little effect or even none at all. Whether is was the shield deflecting everything or the mechs arsenal getting in the way, the Wyvern didn't see a single scratch of damage throughout the initial segment of this battle. Seeing as this fight proved to be more troublesome than anyone could've predicted, Sonic turned towards the others as they watched in great fear.

"Go! Get out of here! While you still have time!" Sonic ordered them.

"Yes, sir!" Tails nodded as he gathered the others for an evacuation.

Eggman soon took notice of Tails' attempt to escape, to which he planned on impeding it. "Where do you think you're going?" He growled as he let a barrage of missiles fly towards them.

Luckily, none of them were struck. Too bad the ground they were standing on wasn't as fortunate. The cliff edge began crumbling piece by piece. The amount of artillery it's taken had proved too much for it to handle, forcing the land to essentially disintegrate beneath everyone's feet. Despite the circumstances, Sonic still ordered Tails to take the others to a safer location while him and his squad continue to partake in a seemingly hopeless battle against Eggman. Holding back tears, Tails abided by Sonics request and fled right before the ground he once stood upon completely collapsed. Fortunately, the quadrant still had just a bit of land left to work with. Eggman turned his head to witness Tails and the others make their escape, to which he simply responded with a careless shrug.

"Are you ready to give up, Sonic?" Eggman sneered as he perceived the sheer amount of fatigue his foes were experiencing. "It seems as if you're too exhausted to continue."

"Not a chance, Eggman." Sonic huffed, hardly able to speak due to his heavy breathing. "We're just figuring out how that gizmo of yours works. Don't get your hopes up just yet, you'll lose the same way you do every single time we meet."

"All of that 'hero talk', yet here you are, hardly able to catch your own breath!"

"Enough!" shouted Shadow as he executed a few more attacks, followed by some others from his three companions. And just like before, they accomplished next to nothing.

Following yet another failed attempt at destroying the Egg Wyvern, the quadrant jumped back to their half broken platform and regrouped. The damage Eggman's machine had taken was instead applied to the quadrant, with the usual fatigue to go along with the physical pain.

"Damn, this is getting us nowhere!" Silver whine as he wiped some blood off of his lip.

"It's that fucking shield!" Shadow growled through his blood stained teeth while clenching his rib cage.

"I have a solution." Blaze proposed. "I figured you boys could keep Eggman busy as I try to do something about this shield."

As his hopeless enemies scrambled around the arena frantically whilst formulating a strategy, Eggman continued to unload his arsenal against them. The more weapons he fired, the more the battlefield crumbled.
