"Aw, do you really have to go?" Amy whimpered as Silver and Blaze prepared for their departure back to the Sol Kingdom, their home dimension. "We'd love for you guys to stay and help out with the cleanup."

"As much as we'd love to stay as well, I'm afraid our kingdom needs us. But more importantly...me." Blaze's tone shifted by the end of that sentence. It seemed as if she had some rather heartbreaking news to share with her friends.

"Uhm, Blaze, you sounded a little...depressed there." Sonic said, observing her tone. "Is there something you're not telling us?"

Blaze gave a heavy sigh before telling everybody, knowing it will greatly upset them. "I won't be returning after today."

Her news was met with immediate gasps and doubtful complaints, which had only made Blaze regret her stalling on delivering said news.

"Wh--why? What's going on?" Amy wondered as more tears filled up at the edges of her eyelids.

Blaze struggled to deliver the reasons why, as her chest began to feel heavy and all the while, she fought back tears of her own.

"I'm turning twenty one years old tomorrow and uh, as per the traditions of our kingdom, I will be inaugurated as queen. And since I must focus all of my attention on the kingdom and its people, I must remain there until my term has been completed. Someone else will just assume the position I used to hold. I'm...I'm sorry, but this'll be the last you ever see of me."

Blaze couldn't keep her usual strong demeanor any longer, she began to helplessly cry and drop to her knees. As she continued sobbing, Silver knelt down beside her and placed a hand upon her shoulder, in an attempt to relieve her stress. The rest of her friends eventually piled in to do the same. But despite their comforting, Blaze's hysterical sobbing only continued. The fact that this'll be the last interaction between the people she's always felt closest to really started to reign down on her.

"I--I'm--I'm s--so sorry!" she whimpered.

"It's okay, Blaze. Silver will still be seeing us, right?" Amy questioned. She prayer that Silver didn't have to share the same fate as his feline friend.

"I'm almost certain that I'll still be around." he answered truthfully, though he wasn't entirely sure yet. "But as for Blaze, yeah, her duties will be far too important for any sort of travel outside of our kingdom."

"Why did I have to be born into royalty?!" Blaze had somewhat let up, at least to the point where she could communicate coherently. "I don't care about social status or riches or holding the highest position of power in our world! I don't care about any of that! I just want to live a carefree life with the people I love the most! I wanna...I wanna stay with you guys!"

As Blaze reverted back to her hysterical ways, everyone around her all looked at each other curiously. Including Silver. Even if he agreed with Blaze's sentiment, it was still surprising to hear what she had to say.

"Blaze...do you really mean that?" Amy wondered.

"Of course I do." Blaze responded as she began wiping the tears off of her face. "Each and every one of you...all mean the world to me. Especially you, Ms. Rose."

Amy's head shot back in a surprised manner. Uncertain as to what Blaze meant by that, all she could do was cock her head to the side in confusion.

"Silver, Sonic, please forgive me."

Amy was now even more baffled. But before she coule gather any information on what exactly Blaze was talking about, she could feel the felines lips being pressed against her own. She immediately shoved Blaze off of her.

"I--I have to go. I'm s--sorry, I just wanted you to know how I truly felt before I left. I--I--"

Blaze shot up and ran for the nearby hill. Most of the others chased after her, screaming her name as they did. Silver and Amy, however, remained frozen.

"Sh--she still loves me, right?" Silver questioned as his eyes were glued to the floor in front of him.

"Maybe she just loves the both of us." said Amy. "I--I need to go talk to her. And you're coming with me."

Amy grasped Silver's hand and dragged him along to where Blaze was heading.

"Blaze! Wait!" Amy called out, hoping Blaze wasn't too embarrassed and still had enough courage to speak with her.

Upon hearing Amy's voice, Blaze's footsteps halted and she sharply turned around to see an out of breath hedgehog slowly walk up the hill.

"Blaze...wait." Amy huffed prior to collapsing directly in front of Blaze's heels, her face planted firmly into the grass below. "Promise me you won't ever make me run that fast ever again. I'm not Sonic after all!"

"I'll keep that promise." Blaze said as she helped Amy to her feet. "And uh, I'm really sorry for what happened back there. I know you and Sonic have a thing together and I should respect that, but I knew this would be the last time we would ever see each other, so I wanted to--"

"Blaze." Amy hushed the feline by placing an index finger on her lips. "Don't apologize. Don't apologize for doing something that hardly anyone would have the balls to do."

"But I'm a wom--"

"You know what I mean! Let's just stay on topic, shall we? Anyway, you had the courage to confess your love to me and I respect that. And while we're on that topic...I suppose I share similar feelings. But hey, none of that matters anymore since, y'know. I just hope you can find some way to come and visit us at some point. Promise?"

"Sure, I'll try." Blaze giggled. "It's not gonna be easy since our kingdom is so heavily reliant on keeping their traditions alive. But nevertheless, I'll see what I can do. And Amy, thank you. For everything. And the same thing goes for all of you as well. Thank you all for being such great friends to me and Silver all these years. If I can somewhow manage to convince my father to allow me permission to visit, then I will see you guys later. But...if not...I'm afraid that this is goodbye. I...I love you guys. I'm gonna miss you all so much."

"And if a similar situation occurs with me as well, then I'm going to miss all of you too." Silver sighed. "But hopefully I should be able to keep this position and I will continue to come here as Blaze and I normally do. Or, better yet...did. I'm sorry, Blaze."

"It's alright, Silver. Like I said, I will try my absolute hardest to ensure that I return in some way. But, for the time being...this is...goodbye. I wish for nothing but the best for each and every one of you. Good luck with your lives moving forward, and always stay happy."

Just then, the Sol Emeralds began to activate which allowed Silver and Blaze to travel across the different dimensions. And because of this, the two travellers began fading away like pollen in the wind. Goodbyes and good luck messages were repeated back and forth between the travellers and their longtime friends until the two eventually vanished from their sight completely.

"Well...that's that." Cream said as she began tearing up, many others sharing those same emotions.

"She'll be back guy, don't you worry." Sonic reassured. "Blaze is a very smart woman. There's no doubt in my mind that she'll convince her father to come give us a grand ol' visit. But in the meantime, our work to restore the planet is only beginning? You all want normal lives again? Then we gotta work fast and we gotta work hard. Just like we did during the war. So...let's get to it!"

Everybody cheered and went off to work, everyone played their part in restoring their planet. With this teamwork, combined with their determination and hard work, Mobius would surely be back to normal in no time. Amy soon alerted the other major cities across the planet that the Alliance had achieved victory in the war over Eggman's Empire, asking that they begin rebuilding everything they lost afterwards. The war was over, peace and harmony have been restored and all is good again. If there was one thing that Sonic and the rest of his Mobian friends excelled at, it's banding together and putting an end to even the greatest of threats. And this war proved to be no different. As long as there is adversity of any kind, Sonic and the Alliance will surely show up and overcome the obstacles, saving their beloved home and all of the people they care about in the process.
