Chapter 45 - Return to Central City

Espio and Whisper quietly sat aboard an Inperial carrier truck as they awaited for their arrival to Central City in hopes to cut off a major armada of androids from causing any further harm. Their plan was to follow them on their way to the city and ambush them by the time they had arrived. Espio and Whisper stayed inside of the Empire's vehicles to eavesdrop in hopes of getting any substantial information regarding Eggman's plans and location and such, Vector and the rest followed behind to avoid getting caught and ruining the entire operation.

Espio snuck over to where Rough and Tumble were staying while Whisper watched his back from close behind. Espio's stealth skills were quite impressive, he could maneuver around the toughest of obstacles without making a single sound. And since it was in the middle of the night right now, it was much easier for Espio to navigate himself through the blockade.

"Man, this just plain sucks." whined Rough.

"Yes, I get it, how many times are you gonna bitch about it?" snapped Tumble.

"As many times as it takes for things to get better." answered Rough in an honest manner.

"The only way we'll gain Eggman's respect back is if we do something really cool that would benefit him." said Tumble as he leaned back comfortably in his chair, setting his leg on the other ones knee and cupping his hands behind his head.

"Back?" asked Rough rhetorically. "What do you mean by "gain his respect back"? He never respected us from the beginning, remember?"

"Oh yeah, I guess you're right." chuckled Tumble. "Man, I just hope we get rid of these pesky Alliance dudes sometime soon. They've done nothing but cause us problems."

"Ah, don't worry." assured Rough. "With this Infinite guy around, they should be taken care of in no time. I heard that Phantom Ruby he's got on him is quite possibly the strongest gem in the world."

"Speaking of Infinite, I'm sure glad he didn't kill us." said Tumble. "But if we were to step out of line again, we may not be so lucky again."

"Heh, yeah." grunted Rough. "But you didn't forget about Eggmans proposal did you?"

"How could I?" said Tumble with excitement in his voice before he began to mimic Eggman about the proposal he had made for them. "If you deliver these troops to Central City without an issue, I will give you Omega and Emerl. Emerl's being reprogrammed last thing I knew, and Omega's busy taking care of rebels in Shamar or something. But my fat fucking ass will give em to ya if you be good little boys and do my bidding."

Tumble then proceeded to mock Eggmans voice and weight by performing a couple of crude gestures that targeted things like his weight and baldness. The show Tumble put on left Rough in stitches as he fell off of his chair and rolled around on the floor in hysterics. Tears poured from his face and he eventually started choking on his own laughter, the two brothers enjoyed making each other laugh almost as much as they enjoyed wrecking havoc.

"Oh man! That impression was spot on!" guffawed Rough as he started to calm down on the laughter. "Perhaps you should've joined the stand up business instead of becoming a henchman."

"I would've, however, causing pain and destruction is my number one hobby. Comedy was unfortunately beaten out, but not by much." said Tumble.

"Ok, I think I've heard enough." muttered Espio as he hopped down from the roof of one of the trucks and made his way to the back of the long line of vehicles where he could contact Vector in private.

"Vector, do you copy?" called Espio.

"Yeah, I'm here." responded Vector. "What's the situation?"
