Vanilla stood frozen as Rough and Tumble menacingly closed in on their position. Tails, Cream and Big all prepared themselves for the inevitable brawl, though Vanilla lied there completely motionless. All she could do was perspire and silently hyperventilate. The two skunk mercenaries had their eyes locked on the motherly rabbit as they made their approach. Based on this interaction, it almost seems as if Vanilla and the two have crossed paths at one point in their lives.

"You guys should just turn around and walk away!" warned Tails, readying himself for a fight despite the sheer difference in strength.

"And who are you to threaten us?" scoffed Tumble with his arms crossed. "You're two kids, two boomers and some dumb animals. You're no match for us."

"We'll just have to see about that!" said Cream, who'd normally feel intimidated in this situation, but due to her experiences with this war, she's grown much stronger and braver.

Vanilla broke free of her paralyzed trance upon hearing her daughters willingness to face such a predicament with this much courage. But even then, her body still refused to move into its fighting stance. Cream soon noticed how silent her mother had been this whole time and begun wondering why.

"Mother, are you okay?" she asked, turning her head slowly towards Vanilla.

"Yeah. It's just..."

Before Vanilla could finish her sentence, Rough impeded her progress.

"It's just that she recognizes us. She knows who we are, and best of all, she knows what we've done."

Rough tried his damnedest to sound as menacing as he possibly could. His main goal was to strike fear in Vanillas heart, forcing her to reminisce the events that are being referred to. And it worked. Words weren't even necessary, Vanilla was stuck trembling the moment the skunks came into her field of view. Needless to say, everyone else, including Cream, were curious and worried about whatever was going on.

"Mother...how do you know these two? Did they hurt you in any way?"

"Wait, she hasn't told you yet?!" guffawed Tumble. Everyone watched awkwardly as the two skunks laughed up a storm. Upon finishing the insane laughter, Tumble looked straight into Creams eyes fiercely. "Your mother hasn't told you about what happened to your father, eh?"

Cream took a moment to process that question, and as she made the nightmarish realization, she started emulating Vanillas behavior. The two rabbits stood there frozen, their only movements consisting of slight jittering as the fear consumed their bodies. With the two rabbits seemingly out of the fight, it was time for Rough, Tumble and Omega to pursue their vulnerable foes.

"So? You bunnies too afraid to fight now or what?" Rough asked in a pretentious manner. All the while, Cream was beginning to feel vengeful. She set aside all of her fear and focused on avenging her father, as well as keeping her mother safe from these pieces of utter scum. "Aw, well that's too bad! I was hoping for a fight! But hey, I'll gladly take the responsibility for the death of both yo--"

"Shut up!"

As they on the verge of sending Omega to attack the Alliance, Cream quickly flew in and threw a fist directly into Roughs face. The attack was so devastating that it sent the unfortunate skunk flying backwards, with enough force to knock Omega over.

"What?!" exclaimed Tumble upon witnessing his brothers clobbering. As he turned to face Cream, he too was met with a toppling attack. Cream performed a spinning kick that knocked Tumbe on top of his brother.

"I know that my father couldn't be saved. I wish he were still here." Creams head hung down in sorrow but was quickly picked back up to give the skunks a vindictive glare. "But I will not stand by and let you take my mother away from me as well. I refuse to just stand by and put on this weak, cowardly image, especially when there's people I care about who require my protection. I will continue to stay brave, strong and positive for my friends sake, my planets sake, and my mothers sake."
