I Just Wanna Be Appreciated- Tylee

You've liked Ty Lee since you were kids. Only Mai knew and it wasn't like she was gonna go around snitching, so it was kept well hidden. Like your stoic best friend, you're pretty good at hiding your emotions, but you're not constantly bored like Mai. You only use it when you need it and right now you need it.

You've been close to Azula since birth, often times helping her stray away from doing really bad things. She listens to you, but only after a lot of complaining and whining. When you're not there though, she'll do whatever she wants.

Azula dragged you along her little adventure in the hopes that you'd help her capture The Avatar. You spend every single day with the three girls and it's both a blessing and curse. It's fun to hang out with your old friends and to be near your crush, but it's a total nightmare to have to hide what your feeling all the time. You have no idea how Mai does it and honestly she's a whole queen because of it.

"Mai can you please paint my nails?", you asks the seemingly bored teen.

She's slouched in a chair while spinning a knife around her fingers. She catches the knife's handle and shrugs.

"Sure why not, beats listening to Azula struggle.", the teen grumbles as she gets up to sit in front of me.

The Princess whips her head around and glares at her stoic friend,"I heard that."

Mai rolls her eyes as she shakes the black nail polish,"That's the point."

Ty Lee walks over to you two on her hands and stands behind you with her forearms rested on the back of your chair.

" Are you sure you want them black? ", The acrobat asks while silently making a dig at your taste.

You shrug and send Mai a small smile," I don't mind it's whatever Mai chooses and plus I think black is a pretty cool color. "

The oldest in your group subtly dips her head down. She's not blushing because she likes you, she's blushing because she doesn't know how to take a compliment. You're always complimenting her because you feel she doesn't get it enough.

Just best friend things.

Ty Lee on the other hand narrows her eyes at stoic teen before smiling again,"If you say so..."

"Hey Zula, want me to do your hair when Mai's done with my nails?", you've been watching her struggle to take out her top knot for the past 15 minutes, it was getting quite old.

The Princess doesn't want to admit it, but she needs help,"Fine, a good head massage would be nice too."

You shrug with another small smile,"Why not? Apparently I'm better then the maids."

Mai glances up at you, shifting her focus between you and Azula in a slight disbelief,"That's not a compliment..."

You furrow your eyebrows together in confusion," But it is, the maids are very good, I know that first hand. To be labeled better than them is a compliment. "

Ty Lee let's her forearms drape over your shoulders,"It's not a compliment, Azula was just being mean in a way you wouldn't understand."

You pout at the thought for a second while secretly relishing the acrobat's touch,"No you're being mean by calling me dumb, right Azula?"

All the three of you glance over at the princess who's still struggling to get her hair out,"Y/n you know I would never say anything mean to you, that's like kicking a baby. It was a genuine compliment that should have been left private, but I guess it's out in the open now."

With a blush you glance down at your hands, watching Mai paint over your nails flawlessly,"Sorry Princess."

She shrugs before waving a hand at you, signifying that it's fine.

She knows it shouldn't, but this bothers Ty Lee. You have such a close bond with everyone but her. When it comes to her it's mediocre at best. It's nothing compared to how well you know Mai's emotional quirks or the difference between Azula's smirks. When it comes to her it's bland, no type of seasoning. She wants you to give her that same attention and affection.

Sure she has guys falling to their knees everywhere she goes, but that means nothing if it's not you. She's literally seen you run back and forth to get both Mai and Azula's things, by the end of it you're too pooped out to even worry about her.

When Zuko kept fucking up with Mai, you would randomly come up to her with cool things you know she'd like. Zuko got a tad bit jealous and started yelling at you, which earned him a break up.

It's a known rule, no one yells at you, not even Azula and she can get absolutely crazy. So it would an understatement to say that she was absolutely furious with her brother. Through out the the screaming match between two girls and Zuko, no one noticed how the typical happy girl was practically fuming. At that moment, you'd easily mistake her for a fire bender.

Why can't you notice her like you do with everyone else?
