Trigger Warning: Slight Gore and Death
Sharp teeth clamp down on my neck, digging into my skin and drawing blood. I wince at the sting of pain, lifting my hands to Azula's head. She pulls back from the bite, lapping up blood as she sits up on her bed. She hums near my ear, pleased by her work.
"Beautiful." She praises, running the back of her finger against my cheek.
Her lips curl into a gentle smile, proud of the blush heating my cheeks.
"There, now everyone knows you're mine." She grins, pressing another kiss to the damaged skin.
My body shudders under her touch, "Azula..."
The royal woman wraps me up in her arms, holding me close to her chest.
"Don't worry, they'll never hurt you again."
All this for a stupid group of guys who thought it was a brilliant idea to make a move on me. Azula acted upon her overly protective and possessive ways. She completely obliterated the rude boys, and after the brutal battle, she dragged me back to the palace. Her affectionate ways can become a headache, but in all honesty, I love it.
"You'll protect me," I mumble against her neck.
She hums in support of my statement, tightening her grip around me.

Ty Lee belts enthusiastically, letting herself fall in my arms. I catch her, lightly holding her to me. Mai smirks in my direction, a teasing shine in her eyes.
"Now you know how it feels." She quips.
She makes hugging Ty Lee sound like such a bad thing. It isn't. But when you're girlfriend is a borderline tyrannical Queen, you have to be cautious.
Azula's lips curl in displeasure, "Unhand her, Ty."
The acrobat nods obediently, letting go of me carefully.
"It's been so long since we last hung out!"
I latch onto my girlfriend's strong arm, resting my head on her shoulder. Ty Lee mimics my position with Mai, hugging onto her best friend.
"I missed this. The place has become incredibly lonesome these days..."
The woman beside me glances at my sorrowful expression before kissing my cheek softly.
She's been busy these past few days. Being Fire Lord is a very demanding job, and being an honorary Fire Lady isn't any easier. Mai places a hand at my shoulder in silent comfort. And just like that, Ty Lee pulls the four of us in a group hug. The embrace is warm and full of affection, despite Azula's and Mai's emotionless nature.
Knives whip through the air, slicing at my side and sticking to the palace entrance.
I wince, staggering away from my friends as I grip at my sides. In an instant, the three older women surround me, prepared in their fighting stances.
Another knife is thrown from above, impaling me in my stomach. The tiny sliver of pain morphs to a blistering ache along my whole body. My limbs slack under injury, causing me to fall backward so that I'm flat on my back.
"Show yourselves!" Azula belts with her fist clenched close to her chest, ready to throw a powerful blast of her blue flames.
My breathing begins to struggle as crimson liquid pools from my mid-section. Some of the substance even drips from my mouth. Ty Lee drops to my side, picking me up carefully before breaking out into a sprint. She's too fast to keep up with, weaving around obstacles as she frantically searches for somewhere safe.
She cradles me to her shoulder, whispering encouraging words. Finally, deeming a place safe enough, Ty Lee lays me on my back. The older woman keeps pressure on my knife wound, knowing better than to tug it out. Her fingers run through my hair, smoothing the flyaways that stuck to my face by sweat.
"It's okay. Azula and Mai are gonna take them out. Then, we can get you all healed up." She encourages as my eyes brim with tears.
I hiss, finding it hard to take in clear breaths. The slow rise and fall of my stomach and chest burn with the heat of thousands of suns. I'm so tempted to hold my breath and let myself suffocate. The pain is just that bad.
"It hurts..." I gasp slightly, with my hands pressed to my mid-section.
Her grey eyes meet mine, desperate to find the right words.
"I'm I gonna die, Ty?" I croak.
"No, you'll be fine. Our healers can save you." Ty Lee attempts to convince, but the blood pooling around her knees and my stomach says otherwise.
I turn my head to the side, exasperated from the pain that's beginning to numb. A few more minutes pass, forced to feel myself grow weaker.
Azula and Mai call out for us, "Y/n! Ty Lee!"
The acrobat quickly rises to her feet, "We're here, guys!"
A warm body slide to my side, immediately gripping at my hand. Soft kisses press against the back of my appendage, "It's okay, I'm here, and I'm gonna take you to the-"
"No." I pant through my struggled intake of air.
Water droplets fall upon my face, staining my cheeks.
"No?" The royal woman questions, gripping at my hand tightly.
"No. I have to go." The pain has become unbearable. The mere thought of staying alive for another few seconds makes me want to beg for mercy.
Her golden eyes glare down at me in refusal, slipping her arm under my neck. She readies to pull me up, but Mai stops her.
"You'll only make the bleeding worse." She explains in a cautious tone.
Azula cries out helplessly, pressing her forehead against mine, "Please, just hold on. Only a few more minutes. Okay, my love? It will only take a few minutes, and the pain will be gone. We can save you."
She begins to wail uncontrollably, her head now pressed to my bloody chest. Desperate to ease her pain, I whimper softly, trying to force out words.
Though Ty Lee quickly hushes me, "Don't waste your breathing. Mai has gone to get help. Just hang on."
My visions spots as I gasp for a few seconds on my last full breath of air. Protective arms grip around me for the final time, and with the reminder of safety, I let myself go. Ringing floods my ears as the faint sound of my lover screaming swallows me.

My chest constricts painfully, forcing me to take a painful gasp of well need oxygen. Sitting up in a medical cot, I check my surroundings. My gaze falls upon my girlfriend, struggling to fight off sleep as she holds on to my right hand.
"Azula?"
