When Friendships Fall Apart 2- Lin

Sad eyes follow their ex-friend's movements, it's been a while since the two of them talked. Y/n keeps ignoring her. At first, the separation didn't bother her too much because she was focused on her new relationship with Tenzin. But now her mind keeps wondering off to the older girl.

She's never been more confused in her life, what did she do? Did she say something that made her uncomfortable or even possibly scare her away? The earth bender sub-consciously brings a hand up to her chest, she really hopes she didn't scare Y/n.

It's not uncommon for people to be uneasy around her, at school people avoid her because they think she might do something to them. The fact that her mom is Chief of Police doesn't help either.

Everyone loves Toph, but she can come off a bit scary herself.

Tenzin places a hand at his girlfriend's back, "You okay?"

He observes her tranced like state towards his ex-best friend. She's dancing with Suyin, teaching her new dance steps.

The older girl occasionally places a hand on the child's back for support or even takes her hand and guides her through the movements.

"You're doing great Su! You'll be a pro in no time, right Bumi?!", She calls out to the boy stuffing his face with snacks.

He nods vigorously, gulping down his food and giving Suyin a thumbs up,"No doubt!"

The small girl blushes at the compliments, bowing to the older teens in a silent thank you.

Y/n coos at Suyin's adorable actions, rustling up the child's curly hair affectionately.

"Stop you'll make my hair poofy!", she child whines while batting away at the teen's hand.

Bumi lets out a laugh,"I keep forgetting how feisty you are! Hey Kya! You remember when I used to do that to you!?"

The water bender stops practicing her bending for a second, letting it drop onto the concrete floor.

"How could I forget! I'd come come home with my hair all messed up.", she frowns at the memory.

Still caught in her stare, Lin ignores her boyfriend, too fixated on Y/n. How does she dance like that? She's so light on her feet and the way she twirls around is so graceful.

A light hue of pink coats her cheeks, deep in her observation.

Tenzin frowns at this, crossing his arms and slumping against the rock behind him. They're all outside, just messing around and having fun- well everyone except the new couple.

"Can you stop staring ugly? It's getting creepy.", a tiny voice calls out to her older sister.

"Shut up Su! You don't know what you're talking about!", She shouts as her face heats up in embarrassment.

Suyin smirks at the older girl,"No need to get so upset Linny, just stop being weird."

Kya steps into the small argument before it escalates too much,"Alright guys calm down, there's no need to fight, but serious stop staring like that- you look like a predator."

The earth bender lowers her head in a humiliated manner.

Y/n nudges the older girl besides her,"That was kinda mean Kya. She obviously didn't realize she was doing it, I'm sure she was just thinking about stuff."

Lin lifts her at the sound of the older girl's voice, a blush coating her features.

Y/n just defended her, maybe if she pries enough they can become friends again. So they can talk to each other like old times and have sleepovers at each other's houses again.
