"We shouldn't be doing this," I mumble worriedly, pulling away from our kiss with a hand pressed to her chest.

Korra coats my face with tender pecks, melting most of my nerves away. She guides my hand away from her chest and places it over her shoulder.

"Don't worry so much." She incites, dipping her head back down to lull me into another intimate kiss.

Her pillowy lips distract me from my thoughts. The anxiety that once bubbled in the pit of my stomach simmers into something warm and tempting. I want to get closer, feel her heated skin against mine, and from her gentle hand creeping beneath my shirt, I can tell she wants the same.

Her hand caresses the enticing warmth under my shirt, trailing higher as she works her lips against my own.

The bed rocks against the wall as Korra drops her body a bit closer to mine, rolling her hips slightly.

The floorboards outside my bedroom creeks faintly as if someone's walking past. I pull away from the kiss, lifting my head in the direction of the door.

My heart sinks to my stomach, realizing I left the door unlocked. I don't have enough time to lock it, and Korra distracted me when she came in, so I forgot.

My girlfriend lifts herself up, so she's no longer making contact, one hand on the mattress to help her balance some of her weight.

"What's-" I place my hand against her mouth, bringing my pointer finger up to mine, signaling for her to keep quiet.

The door opens abruptly, and without time to prepare, we're caught together.

"What the hell do you two think you're doing!" Lin shouts, making her way toward the bed and yanking the blanket covering our clothed bodies.

Korra sits up on her knees, climbing off the side of the mattress, "It's not what you think-"

"Get the hell out of my house, or I'll arrest you for the second time!" She points to the open window we forgot to close.

I sit up in the bed, wanting to talk this situation out rather than ending up in an argument, "Wait, mom, can we just-"

Annoyed by the still present Avatar, the earth bender lifts the teen over her shoulder and throws her out the window. Astounded by her behavior, I follow after my mother.

I lean over the window sill, catching Korra hop over the other side of the fire escape, land on her feet, and dash out the alleyway leading to our building complex.

"Are you serious?!" I whip my head around to my mother, yelling in disbelief.

She yanks me by the wrist and drags me out to the living room, "Don't raise your voice at me!"

My feet rub against the hardwood floor as she drags me away, "You could have killed her!"

"Good!" my mother shouts, blinded by her anger.

Woken up by all the commotion, my other mom steps out of her bedroom. She rubs her eyes with the back of her hand.

She stumbles over to us in her tired daze, "What's going on out here?"

She yawns sleepily, stretching her arms up a bit.

Unaffected by her wife's still restful appearance, Lin shouts, "Do you want to know what I caught our daughter doing at 4 o'clock in the morning?!"

My calmer mother glances at me and back at my other mom, "What did you do now?"

I mumble softly, "You act like I'm always doing something terrible. I rarely get in trouble. "

Kya sighs, resting a hand on my shoulder, and squeezes it. She leans over me, whispering lowly, "I know, but it's best to just follow along when your mom's this upset."

The metal bender ignores my statement and continues her own, "Korra snuck into her room, and I found those two locking lips!"

To my mother's surprise, her wife throws her head back in a hearty laugh, gripping onto my shoulders tightly. Lin's lips curl into a deep scowl, narrowing her eyes at the water bender. She folds her arms over her chest in a fed-up manner, "It's not funny!"

Letting go of me and walking over to momma, Kya chuckles softly, wrapping her arm around her wife's shoulders.

"But it is! You, don't remember when I'd force you to sneak into my room with that little earth-bending trick of yours? We use to do worse things than kiss, ya know." She reminisces with a subtle smirk peaking up at the corner of her lips.

Mom flushes, glaring at the floor, with a hot pink hue to her cheeks.

Grossed out by the thought of my moms getting it on, I change the subject, "If that's the case, then why is mom blowing up on me? She used to do the same thing. Even worse, she was the one sneaking into people's homes!"

The earth bender whips around, listening for any unknown presence lurking in our home, "Don't say things like that so loud. You make me seem like some type of criminal."

She went from ballistic to paranoid. I swear it's all those late-night shifts! If she'd just come back at a regular time, she wouldn't be trippin' out half that time, but mom refuses to admit she's sleep-deprived. What that woman needs is a whole day's worth of rest.

Kya rolls her eyes and smacks her wife upside the head, "Quit it out! Your daughter has a pretty great point. You can't be mad at her if you were involved with the same thing. And they probably wouldn't even be sneaking around if you let Korra take her out on a date. The poor girl came to the precinct every day just to get a chance to talk to you. She was willing to come here and meet the both of us! You said no, and you wonder why your daughter's sneaking her girlfriend in the house." She explains in a tired exasperation.

Arms unfolding from her chest loosely, the Chief of Police growls, glancing off to the side in admitted defeat. My teeth sink into my lower lip, trying to keep from laughing, but my still sleepy mother catches me.

"You're not in the clear either, little miss. You are grounded for a week: no phone, no tv, and no iPad. Learn how to read a book."  She orders while pointing a finger in my direction.

I shrug at my punishment, finding myself getting off the hook way easier than I probably should, "Fine by me."

"Good, now go to bed." My somehow more respectable mom orders again, twisting me around by my shoulders, "Rest well, I'm gonna have a little...talk with your mom."

Lin's cheeks flush once again while my calmer mother smirks deviously. I can't help but roll my eyes at their annoying antics. Are they not tired? They were just at it like two hours ago!

I shake my head to myself in disbelief, speed walking back to my room. With a heavy sigh, I slip on a random pair of shoes. I hop over to the window on one foot as I do so. Flashing my phone's flashlight at the building over twice, I signal that I'm ready to leave.

Korra peeks from behind from the corner, grinning up at me as I creep down the fire escape. She reaches out for my hand, interlacing our fingers as she guides me out the dingy alleyway.

She covers me up in the jacket tied around her waist, knowing I like wearing it sometimes, guiding me to Naga. The polar bear dog waits for us patiently on the sidewalk.

Happy to finally escape the prison that is my home, I press my face against Korra's sturdy back as she rides us over to the docks. Loving the heat from her warm body, I wrap my arms around her waist, pulling myself closer to her as she steers Naga.

I can't help but lean up from her back, pressing gentle kisses to the back of her neck. Her body shutters under the tender touch, falling back against me with a content sigh. I try to avoid distracting her any further, knowing the consequences if she loses focus.

Plus, we can make up for all the lost time in her room back at the air temple. Hopefully, no one will bother us there.
