This is a shit post! So, good luck, and I hope you all enjoy it! On a side note, I just found out I share a birthday with Doja Cat, and I'm low-key bugging out.

"Y/n, you have to get up now. Toph and Aang started training hours ago." The water-bender calls out from the entrance of the tent.

Pretending not to hear her, I turn to my side so that I'm facing away from her. Katara steps further into our tent, letting outside light seep in and blind me.

"I know you're up." She quips.

I groan as I turn to my back and sit up from our sleeping bag. My hands stretch above my head, loosening all the stiff joints and muscles.

"Fine, you got me," I mumble sourly.

Her right hand flies over her mouth, failing to contain the giggles echoing through the half-lit space.

"You look cute with bed head." She chuckles.

I glance up towards my head, taking note of all the strands falling over my face before looking back towards the water bender. My attention falls to the right of her head.

"Thanks, you look cute with a spider web on your shoulder." I point towards her clothed shoulder.

Her head whips around to face the area in mention. She shrieks, quickly slapping away the spider and its destroyed web. A teasing grin forms around my lips as I watch the amusing display.

After successfully calming herself down, Katara clears her throat.

"Be ready in five minutes. I want to begin training you." She orders, glaring at me before walking out of our shared tent.

For the last few days, Katara's been up to my ass about training, now that Aang's focusing more on his earth bending. She wants to know that I'm extra prepared for the invasion coming up and that I won't get hurt. She doesn't want me to become a liability. So now I'm working overtime, and I'm not even that good, so training's boring.

Laughing to myself, I slip out of our sleeping bag and begin preparing for the day. Fixing my hair and washing my mouth doesn't take too long. Within 4 minutes, I step out of the tent with my hair pulled up into a tight bun, my breath tasting minty, and in my makeshift bathing suit.

"You're finally awake!" Toph calls out to me.

Standing behind a blindfolded Aang, the earth bender clasps her hands behind her back. With a mischievous smirk, she swipes at Aang's ankles with her foot. The boy drops to the ground instantly.

"Whoa! That's not fair, Toph. I can't see." He belts.

"Oh boo hoo!" She retorts, letting the boy get up again before trying to knock him down again.

Thank Raava, I'm not an earthbender, or I'd be stuck getting taught by that sifu demon.

"Yeah! Good Morning guys! Good luck!" I bid before looking for my sifu.

Just as I walk towards Sokka to ask where his sister is, he points in the direction of the lake without looking up from his map. He stares at the page with concentration, rubbing at his hairless chin with the hand he just used to point.

Following in the direction, I push past tree branches and almost fall down the hill leading to the lake. Where the line of trees finished, there's a dip leading straight down to the body of water.

"Careful!" Katara exclaims, quickly rushing to my side and holding at my waist to keep me steady.

Her warm hands wrap around the bare area, squeezing the skin softly as she keeps me from falling. She lets out a short breath of relief while leaning over my right shoulder subtly.

"You okay?" She questions in a gentle tone just beside my ear.

Shuttering under her care, I manage to nod confidently.

"Yes. I'm okay. Thank you."

She hums, loosening her hold to guide me down the path to the lake. I follow her guide with burnt cheeks and a churning tummy.

"It's extra warm out today, so I was thinking we could practice your ice manipulation." She explains as we pause in front of the mouth of the lake.

"Okay." I agree, sucking in a deep breath as her fingertips drag across my skin when she pulls away.

She stands beside me at the muddy edge, stretching her hands high above her head in demonstration. I follow her movements, prying my attention from the muscles contracting in her stomach as she expands. Katara peaks an eye open, glancing at me from the side as I copy her example.

"Stop staring. We have to focus today." She orders.

The last few times we tried training, I got too distracted, and we ended up in other activities. Nothing too dirty, but positively not training.

"Yes, Sifu Katara."

With a gentle eye roll, the master stands up from her stretch.

"Good. Let's start on some of the stuff we went over last time. Do a water whip for me, lovely?" She offers, lifting her hand to her chin as she prepares to observe me.

I lift my hands from my sides and attempt to remember the motions she explained in our last session. Loose, flowing movements. Relax and spread my feet out more.

The water lifts from the lake and whips at the still air in front of us.

"Perfect! Let's work on turning the water into ice." She exclaims merrily.

My lips curl at either end, grinning as she begins her lesson. Katara guides me through the process, demonstrating how to position my arms and the placements of my hands. I copy her form, glancing over to her for approval. She hums while glancing over my body professionally.

"Try to tense your muscles up a bit more." She advises, pointing towards my arms and legs.

I nod concentratedly, flexing some of the muscles I can control. The master sighs softly before creeping up behind me. Her fingers wrap around my forearms, sliding up to my hands as her body presses up against mine.

"Good, just don't forget to keep your hands in position." She instructs.

"Okay," I mumble as she pulls away.

"Great." She soothes me after I change the position of my hands.

My stomach churns happily under her simple praise. After guiding me through the process one last time, Katara leaves me to try on my own. With graceful motions, I lift a small portion of the lake into the air. My fingers curl into my palms as I attempt to solidify the liquid.

Katara whoops excitedly as the water morphs to ice daggers. Encouraged by her enthusiasm, a wide grin spreads across my lips while strong arms wrap over my shoulders and tug me into a heartfelt backward hug.

"I knew you could do it." She admits after pressing her lips against my cheek.

The sentiment earns another rush of heat to either side of my face. Except, this time, the heat rushes to the tips of my ears too.

"Can I get a real kiss?" I question, hoping to draw her attention away from my flustered expression.

The arms around my neck tighten as Katara hugs me closer to her body.

"Simmer down, lover girl." Toph unexpectedly calls out from behind us.

My hands fly towards my girlfriend's arms, gripping them tightly as we turn around to face the earth bender. She grins at our frightened posture, dropping her hands to her stomach in a short laugh.

"How long have you been here?" Katara questions with her arms still hanging over my shoulders.

"Long enough to know why guys didn't show up for dinner last night." She teases.

Well shit.
