Falling in love with my two best friends was the last thing I expected to happen. After the two came out to me, I knew I fell deep. Seeing them together made my heart a mess but also made me feel left out. They went off to do their couple stuff and left me chilling by myself. I guess I got used to spending all of my time hanging out with both of them.

I feel like a third wheel whenever we hang out. The two get all coupley, and I just gotta take my lonesome.

To combat that annoyance, I began hanging out with our dear old friend, Mako. We're both a part of the same friend group, but we never really hung out alone together. To be honest, I actually wanted to hang out with his brother, Bolin. But after some deep thought, I realized hanging out with him would be the same as hanging out with the girls.

So, about a month or two ago, I asked Mako if he wanted to hang out. He said that he wasn't busy and didn't mind the company. I took that as my invitation, and I drove out to his apartment.

When I actually took the time to get to know the lonesome dude, I found that I liked spending time with him.  Homie turned into my bestie in less than a week.

Lately, Mako's been feeling a little lost. Joining the Police brings him joy, but he feels like he doesn't know himself. I tried to talk him into going to therapy, but Mako refused. He doesn't realize just how much losing his parents traumatized him in more ways than one.

After his shift today, I forced him to take me out to eat. Well, not really. He wanted to treat me to dinner.  Due to his new position as a detective, he's loaded, and I'm tight on money. He knows I always pay him back anyway.

"Have you seen the new mover theater downtown? We should totally check it out", I question, leaning over our shared table to take a sip of my soup.

The firebender hums, leaning over to do the same from his side of the booth, "I hope they have a mystery mover. Those are my favorite."

Before, little things like movers didn't interest him, but I showed them how fun they can be when you find the ones you like.

"They do! I saw the poster. I'm pretty sure it's called, 'What remains of Lee.'" I grin, sitting up to face him better.

The older boy gulps down his bread and places a hand under his chin, "Hmm, that sounds interesting. Maybe we could go tomorrow after my shift."

My attention wanders to his lower lip, eyeing the sliver of butter running from his lip to his chin.  Covering my mouth with my hand, I can't help a chuckle. Mako raises an eyebrow, lifting his head up from his bowl of soup.

"What's so funny?",  He questions with an amused smirk.

I hold a hand to my chest in an attempt to control my laughter, "There's butter on your chin."

His cheeks flush, earning another laugh from me.

"Really where!" He asks, poking his tongue out from his mouth to lick away the spot.

I roll my eyes before leaning over to wipe it away for him, "Here."

He scowls at me, embarrassed I treated him like a baby, "I could have gotten it myself."

"Sure," I mumbled sarcastically.

Just as I finish my sentence, a familiar voice calls out to us. Whipping our heads to meet the sound, Mako and I notice the couple making their way towards us. Turning back to look at each other, we share a mutual groan.

Both girlfriends walk up to our table with grins spread across their lips.

Korra teases, "I didn't know you two hung out?"
