Daryl's P.O.V
Rick told us the plan of attack at Negan's compound for tonight, and once he was done we all kept to ourselves until it was time.
Kell was leaning against the truck with her back to me, and I saw she was cleaning her blade that was attached to her prosthetic.
"Man." I thought and shook my head. "That shit's intimidating."
I reached out and grabbed a strand of her hand, stroking it and putting it behind her ear.
She looked up at me and managed a smile, and I smiled back. I couldn't stop thinking about her at this moment. Everytime I look at her, I can't help but feel like I'm still the luckiest man in the world.
"And now," I thought. "My wife really looks like a badass."
Kell kept cleaning her blade as a way to pass time, but then I started hearing Rick and Carol talking about her and Maggie. I knew Kell heard them too, because she began to slow down her hand.
"They will get killed." We heard Carol say. "They shouldn't be out here in the first place."
I saw Kell take a deep breath, and then she tossed the rag at my feet. She then walked over to them and started talking with them, and you could tell she was annoyed at Carol.
"Who are you to tell me I can't?" Kell said to Carol.
"You can stay here with me, where it's safe, and we'll guard the perimeter." Carol tried to tell her.
"No I'm not." Kell argued. "My husband is going in there, and I'm going with him."
"You have your son back home." She said. "You can't do this."
"No shit Carol." Kell said, even more pissed off now. "I'm doing this for him, for us. What's your problem?"
They kept bickering until Kell stopped and looked at Rick who was still standing next to them.
"A little help here." She said, and I could tell she was trying to ask nicely.
Rick just slowly cross his arms and stepped away from them, and Kell scoffed at him.
"Bad move brother." I thought and mentally shook my head.
Kell just kept staring at Rick when Carol put her hand on Kell's shoulder to turn her around.
"No!" I thought, and instanly knew what was about to happen.
Kell spun around and slapped Carol's hand away, and it sounded rough. They just stared at each other, and I swear I could see steam coming out of Kell's ears. She just huffed and tried to walk back over here, when Carol stepped in front of her.
"Get the hell away from me." Kell raised her voice at her.
"Do you really want to do this?" Carol raised her voice back. "Possibly die if you go out there?"
"I have to!" Kell yelled "You don't understand."
"Try me." Carol said.
"I never stopped helping this group, Carol. Not when Lee was born, not when I lost my arm, and I'm damn sure not stopping now." Kell ranted. "I don't know what's going on with you right now, but I plan on killing these bastards so we can eat tomorrow."
Kell then tried to step past her again, but Carol blocked her again.
"Damn it, Carol. Why would you do that?"
Kell didn't like Carol stopping her again, so she instanly raised her arm and slammed it into the side of the RV. Her blade scraped against it and left a scratch mark on the side.
"Get. The. FUCK. Out of my way." Kell threatened Carol.
"Shit." I automatically sat up straight and debated on if I should go over to them and break this up.
"This is where I step in. Right?" I asked myself. "No, not just yet."
I know Kell. I saw she was trying so hard not to hurt anyone right now, but she was getting pissed off. I didn't get involved yet, because I knew that once Kell's upset, you let her rant and then you step in once she's calmed down. I also knew that no matter how much she loves us, she can do anything when she's upset, and now she always has a weapon attached to her
I was also starting to get frustrated with Carol, because she was not letting up on Kell, and I didn't know how much more Kell could take. Kell isn't getting a chance to calm down, and we all knew she would lose it soon.
They kept arguing and neither of them were budging. Rick looked at me and I sighed. I got off the hood of the truck and leaned against it, still not taking my chance yet.
Then, Carol made a mistake.
"You won't be a mother if you do this. You could end up like Lori." We all heard her say.
Everyone watched in anticipation and I knew that Rick was caught off guard at the mention of her name, and Kell definitely remembered something.
Now, I was afraid of what Kell would do to Carol. The mention of Lori's name was her breaking point.
"You fucking bitch!" She yelled.
Kell instantly forcefully pushed Carol to the side with her left arm, and stormed over to the truck.
"Kell." I said, trying to get her attention.
"What are you doing?" Some of us asked concerned.
"Hey." Rick began to say.
But Kell didn't respond. She had tunnel vision and clearly only had one thing on her mind.
She opened the door to the truck and grabbed her bag, along with a rifle. She then slammed the door and stared at all of us.
"Leave me alone." She threatened.
She then turned around and ran full sprint down the road and away from us.
"Shit!" I said.
I reached for my gun and started chasing after her. She noticed that I was catching up to her so she turned around and raised her arm at me. I stopped myself so quickly, and I was lucky enough to stop a couple inches away from her blade.
We just stared at each other and she didn't say a word. At that moment, I knew she wasn't gonna come back.
I slowly raised my hands and she watched my every move. I then stepped backwards and gave her the chance to run, which she did.
I watched as she ran into the forest and disappeared, and I just sighed as I turned back around towards the group.
They were in shock and didn't know what to do, but I did. I would follow her, make sure she's okay, and bring her back once she's calmed down.
I opened the door to the truck, grabbed some supplies, and stuffed them in my bag. I needed to be ready for anything.
"Where are you going?" Rick walked up to me and asked.
"I need to follow her. Watch her." I told them. "I'll bring her back once she's calmed down."
"You don't know what she'll do." Carol said.
"She won't do anything. She's fine." I said, and then pointed at Carol. "She wouldn't have even got this pissed if you would've just quit!"
Carol didn't say another word and everyone just looked at me. I grabbed my bag and turned around to leave.
"Just leave us alone." I warned.
I then turned around and followed her tracks into the forest, straight towards the danger.
