"Kelliana?" My dad said. "Is that really you?"
"This isn't real." I thought. "It can't be real..."
"What's going on here?" Daryl and Rick asked at the same time.
"It's been a long time Kelliana." He said.
"It's just Kelley." I said with a rude tone.
He nodded and looked around at us, still pointing his gun.
"Cellblock A. This is my block. You guys better leave." He said to everyone, then looked at me. "You my dear, you can stay."
"We're not leaving. This is ours, we spilt blood." Rick said to my dad.
He aimed his gun at Rick, and Daryl aimed his crossbow at my dad. I was still shocked and didn't know what to do. My dad glared at Daryl and then aimed the gun at him. That's when I snapped out of it. I wasn't going to let him hurt someone I loved ever again. I pulled out my pistol and aimed it at him. He looked at me shocked but I didn't budge.
"Kelliana, what are you thinking?" He asked and I heard the evil come off his lips. "Put the gun down."
"You first." I ordered.
He hesitated and then looked at Daryl, who was still aiming his crossbow. He nodded and lowered the gun, and so did I. Everyone backed away from each other and I saw my group staring at me. I looked at them and saw Daryl was extremely confused and angry. Rick called us away to talk privately and T-Dog and Glenn stayed to keep watch on them.
Me, Daryl, and Rick stood in a small circle and they all looked at me.
"That's your father?" Daryl asked.
I sighed and nodded. I saw his face turn red with anger. I saw he remembered the story I told him of who my dad was and how he got to prison.
"What do we need to know about him?" Rick asked.
I looked back at my dad and saw he was watching me. I turned back around and suddenly felt very vulnerable. I shook it off and looked at them.
"He's an angry, manipulative, sadistic liar." I told them, and shook my head. "He can't be trusted."
"Kelliana!" My dad called to me.
I turned around and he was waving at me to go to him. I just ignored him and turned around.
"Kelliana?" They asked.
"That's my real name." I said, and looked at Daryl. "I hate being called that, and he knows it. He knows how to push my buttons."
"Kelliana, come here!" My dad yelled.
"It's Kelley!" I yelled back at him.
Everyone just stared and kept silent.
"I need to talk to him. Alone." I said.
"We'll stay right here." Rick said, and Daryl nodded in agreement.
I nodded and walked over to my dad. He sat down at a table and ushered me to sit down. The prisoners walked over to a far wall to leave my dad alone, and the guys stood in the opposite corner by the cell gate.
We sat across from each other and just stared at each other.
"Who was that you were talking to over there?" He asked, nodding at Daryl.
"None of your business." I muttered.
"He your boyfriend?" He asked and smirked.
"Shut up." I said rudely.
He opened his mouth to say something, but then shut it. He sighed and fiddled his fingers.
"So, how have you been?" He asked.
I scoffed and shook my head. "Since when do you care?"
He nodded his head and sighed. "Where's everyone else?" He asked.
"What do you mean?" I asked him.
"Your mother. Your brother and sister." He said, like it was obvious.
I closed my eyes and a couple tears streamed down my cheeks. I wiped them away and cleared my throat.
"They're dead." I said sadly.
My dad was silent for a moment then tried to grab my hand, but I pulled away.
"That's so sad." He said, and I saw his eyes start to water. "I'm so sorry Kelliana."
I stared at him and felt my blood boil.
"Sorry?" I asked. "You're sorry?" I raised my voice. "No, you don't get to be sorry. You didn't watch them die. You weren't there! You were never there for us!"
"I am-" He began but I cut him off.
"You didn't hear their screams. You didn't hear them cry out for you to save them." I yelled. "Even when you beat the shit out of us, we still prayed for you, and you never came!" I yelled and stood up. "You're a monster for what you did to us!"
He stood up and got in front of my face.
"You better be careful of what you say next girl." He threatened.
I was so furious, I wanted to hurt him. I needed to get him back. I was not the same person he knew. I wasn't going to let him push me around anymore. Then it finally clicked, and I looked him dead in the eyes.
"You're a coward Dad. God would be ashamed of you." I growled at him.
"You fucking whore!" He yelled at me.
He instantly raised his hand and slapped me across my face hard. The force behind the hit turned me around and I held my face. Then I heard everyone start yelling. I looked up and Daryl jumped on my dad and tackled him to the ground. They started punching each other and fighting rough. The prisoners tried to join in, but Glenn and T-Dog aimed guns at them. Rick ran over and pulled them up, but they wouldn't let go of each other.
"Stop!" I yelled, but they didn't listen to me.
I put myself in the middle of them and pushed them away. Rick grabbed Daryl and I pushed away my dad.
"Stop!" I yelled at them and held my arms up.
Daryl was grunting and trying to shake loose. I stared at my dad and pointed at him.
"You don't ever touch him again." I threatened.
"He came after me!" He said.
"I don't give a shit." I yelled. "I will not let you tear apart my family EVER again."
"But Kelliana. I'm your family." He said.
"You're nothing to me." I said.
Everyone stared at us and I even saw Carl peeking out from the cells at us. My dad backed away and joined his prison gang.
"We still need a place to stay, since your 'family' took my block." He said.
"We'll go find another cellblock for you guys." Rick said. "Then we'll stay out of your way, and you'll stay out of ours."
The prisoners bickered with each other but finally agreed. My dad nodded and looked at me.
"Fine. But I want her to come with us." My dad said and pointed at me.
I stared at him menacingly and sighed. I looked at Daryl, who Rick now let go, and he was standing away from us. I saw he was still angry and unpredictable at this point. I grabbed Daryl's arm and walked us away so we could talk privately.
"I-I don't know what to say. I'm sorry." I said.
"You don't have to be sorry." He said, but his voice was different.
I held his face and made him look at me. He was still angry and I couldn't tell what he was thinking.
"It's different now. I'm not letting him hurt me anymore." I tried to convince him.
"He just fucking hit you Kell, right in front of me!" Daryl raised his voice.
"I know." I said and put my hands on his chest.
I sighed and bowed my head. He looked at me and sighed too.
"Just trust me. I can handle this." I said.
Daryl sighed but nodded his head. "Okay. But if I see him ever touch you again.." Daryl said but was too angry to finish his sentence.
I just stared at Daryl, but I knew he was seriously. I nodded in agreement and I saw him relax just a little bit. But what he didn't know is that I had my own plan.
Like I just told him, it's different now.
