The men nodded and walked up behind me. I looked over at Daryl and tears streamed down my face, and he was starting to tear up too. I bowed my head and squeeze my eyes shut, waiting for the blow to my head.
Then we heard gunfire.
I opened my eyes and looked at Gareth who pulled out a walker talkie.
"Hey, Chuck." He said.
There was no response and I heard the guys behind me step closer, and the man was ready to swing.
Then we heard more gunshots.
We all looked at each other and waited. Then there was a giant explosion outside which shook the building. Then another one which knocked us all over.
"What the hell was that?" We heard a voice ask over the radio.
The butchers stood up and so did Gareth, but the rest of us were laying on the floor.
"You guys stay here." Gareth said.
"These guys aren't going anywhere." They said.
"Stay here until I know what's happening!" Gareth yelled and left the room.
"So we just sit here?" One guy asked.
"We got another job to do." The other guy said.
I struggled trying to break loose and looked at Daryl. I tried to tell him to reach for my knife I hid in my pants, but my voice was muffled. He didn't understand and tried to break free himself. I grunted in frustration and looked over at Rick. I saw he pulled out his piece of shrapnel and was slowly cutting away at the ties around his wrist.
"You there Gar?" One guy spoke into a walkie talkie.
"He's busy." The other guy said.
He was pacing and clearly angry.
"You hear the shots!" He yelled. "He could be dead. The hell we doing here? The whole place could be going up."
"You went on one round up and broke protocol. We don't deal with security. That ain't our job." The man said. "This is."
Their backs were to us, and I saw Rick finally broke free and was cutting the ties off his feet.
The other guy turned around and walked over to a table.
"No..." He muttered.
"Hey." The guy with the bat said. "Look at me."
I saw Rick get up and run behind the man with the bat. The guy then turned around at the wrong moment.
Rick stabbed the guy in the neck and he fell to the floor. He then ran after the other man, slammed him against the table, and stabbed his neck and stomach.
Rick then ran over to us and cut me loose first. I pulled my knife out of my pants and cut Daryl loose while Rick freed Glenn and Bob. Daryl helped me up and I still couldn't put weight on my foot.
We all grabbed a blade from off the table for a weapon and looked at the bodies. Glenn and Bob were about to stab them in the head when I stopped them.
"Don't. Let them turn." I said.
They hesitantly nodded and backed away. Daryl wrapped my arm around his shoulders to help me walk and I limped by his side. We ran down a hallway into another room and saw that human torsos were hanging on hooks. There were more tables with tools and weapons covered in blood.
"You cross any of these people, you kill them." Rick ordered. "Don't hesitate... They won't."
We heard yelling coming from outside and gathered by the door. Outside the window, we saw walkers swarmed the area and there were cars and buildings on fire.
"They're distracted. We can get past them." Rick said and looked at me. "Will you be able to run?"
"I got her." Daryl said, not even giving me the chance to answer.
We saw there were walkers focused on a storage container that had people yelling on the inside.
"We got to let those people out." Glenn said and looked at Rick, who was hesitant. "That's still who we are. It's gotta be."
Rick nodded and opened the door. We ran out and started killing the surrounding walkers while Rick opened the container.
This crazy man ran out of it yelling.
"We're the same!" He yelled.
He ran in front of Rick who blocked him and struggled to push him away.
"Back up." Rick grunted.
The man laughed crazily and tilted his head. "We're the same."
Rick pushed him back and he stood there laughing. Then a walker ran out of nowhere, bit his neck, and tackled the crazy man to the ground.
"Come on!" Rick yelled and started running off.
Daryl helped me keep up and we hid behind another storage container, hiding from the walkers and people. There was a group of people with assault rifles walking forwards and taking down the walkers. Rick snuck behind a car by himself, but a walker found him. Daryl ran up and killed the walker and crouched by Rick. Then a walker showed up and grabbed me from behind. I turned around quickly but tripped over my bad foot and got slammed against the container. I grunted in pain and killed the walker in front of me. Daryl then ran over to me, wrapped my arm around his shoulders, and helped me up.
Rick walked out from behind the car, killed one of the people, and shot the rest of them with an assault rifle. He grabbed all the guns from the people and handed them to us. I wasn't able to shoot a rifle at the moment but I grabbed a pistol. While the walkers were distracted by the bodies, we found the train car we were put in.
Rick ran up and opened the door.
"Fight to the fence!" He yelled and shot at the walkers around us.
They all ran out and found weapons to pick up. Rick gave Carl a gun and they started shooting everything in sight while running to the fence. Glenn found Maggie, gave her a gun, and they also ran. Daryl instantly took me to the fence and helped me climb over. He followed after me and I saw everyone following. I looked through the fence and saw Gareth and other people found us and started shooting. I shot back at them, specifically aiming at Gareth, and luckily shot his shoulder.
"Motherfucker." I muttered.
Abraham was the last person over, and we instantly fled into the forest.
Rick led us to where we hid the bag of guns and started to dig them up.
"What are you looking for?" Abraham asked.
"Guns." Rick said. "Lots of them."
He got a hold of the bag and opened it, handing out guns to everyone. I got an extra clip for my pistol and everyone loaded their guns.
"Search along the fences with a rifle. Shoot every last one of them." Rick ordered.
"What?" Glenn asked.
"They don't get to live." Rick said.
"Fine with me." I said and loaded my gun.
"We got out. It's over." Glenn said.
"It's not over until they're all dead." Rick said and loaded his Colt Python.
"The hell?" Rosita said. "That place is on fire."
"The fences are down. They'll run or die." Maggie said. "Either way it's over."
Everyone else nodded in agreement and Rick sighed. Then we heard a branch crack and aimed our guns at the noise. We saw Carol slowly emerge out of the woods holding a sniper rifle.
Daryl was speechless and stared at Carol, who teared up at seeing us.
"Daryl." She managed to say.
Daryl ran up to her and hugged her. He was tearing up himself and Carol patted his back. I was so happy, I couldn't believe she was alive and even here with us.
Daryl let go and backed up, and Rick stepped forwards. He hugged her and sighed.
"Was that you?" He asked.
"Yeah." Carol sniffled and smiled.
We all smiled at Carol and she looked at me and Rick.
"You have to come with me. You need to see something." She said.
We followed her into the woods for a decent walk and appeared at a cabin with a car out front. We were confused at first, but then Tyreese walked out of the house. He closed the door and we were about to walk up when we heard something.
We heard giggling and babbling, and it sounded like it was coming from a baby. Rick froze in shock and I did too.
"It couldn't be..." I thought.
Tyreese then turned around and we saw Judith in her arms. I gasped in shock and so did Rick and Carl.
"Judy..." Rick cried in disbelief.
"Oh... Oh God." I cried. "My baby!"
I tried my best to run and limped over to her.
"Mama." She said and held her arms out to me.
I picked her up and held her in my arms. I kissed her forehead and pet her head.
"I'm here baby. I'm here..." I said to her.
Rick walked over to me and kissed his daughter's head and hugged us. Carl then joined in and Judith grabbed his finger. He laughed and smiled at Judith and I let Rick hold her. I kissed her hand one more time before backing up and letting them be with her. It was such a beautiful family reunion for them. I wiped away my own tears and Daryl wrapped his arm around my waist.
"That will be us." He whispered in my ear.
I smiled and nodded in agreement, and held his hand that was on my hip. He kissed my forehead and I sighed with relief.
"That will be us." I thought. "And I won't let anything happen to my babies."
