"I'm Kelley." I said again. "And this is my dog, Bud."
"I'm Andrea." Said a woman with blonde hair.
"T-Dog." Said a black man.
"I'm Officer Rick Grimes." A man in a sheriff's uniform said.
I counted three people, but I remember Glenn said there was four of them.
"Where's Merle, Glenn?" I asked.
Everyone was silent and I felt a sudden sense of danger. I pulled out my gun and aimed it at Glenn. Everyone started freaking out and Andrea pulled out hers and aimed at me.
"I ain't messing around. You said Merle was here. So where the fuck is he!" I yelled at Glenn.
"Woah now, just drop the gun. Everyone calm down!" Rick commanded, acting like he was still a police officer.
Bang! Bang!
"That's probably Merle up there." Glenn said and pointed to another set of stairs that led to the roof.
I glared at him and began walking over there with Bud at my side.
"She seems dangerous. I don't like her." I heard Andrea say.
"I can hear you." I said and stopped at the stairs to turn around to look at her. "And don't worry, the feelings mutual."
We all walked up the stairs to the roof and I saw another man shooting a rifle and laughing.
"What the hell Merle?" Glenn said.
"Hey. You better be polite to a man with a gun." Merle said in a threatening tone.
Rick and I were standing back, since we were the newest to the group and didn't know anyone.
"Just stop man." T-Dog said. "You're wasting bullets we don't even got. You're gonna bring them on our ass."
Merle snapped and pointed at T-Dog. "Today's not the day I'm gonna take orders from a nigger."
T-Dog threw a punch at Merle, which he dodged and hit T in the face with his gun. Rick ran in to join the fight, but Merle punched him in the face which made Rick fall to the ground. Merle got on top of T-Dog and started beating him.
"Dixon! Get off of him!" Andrea yelled trying to remove Merle from on top of him.
Everyone was just surrounding him and watching the fight. But I had enough of it. I walked up to Merle and whistled, which got his attention and he stood up. I punched him in the face, and he returned the favor. Bud then jumped onto Merle, pinning him down and bit his arm.
"Ahh! Get this damn dog off of me!" He yelled and punched Bud, but he didn't budge, he just bit down harder.
I aimed my pistol at him and called Bud off. Merle crawled away but froze when he saw my gun pointed at him. Rick then came up behind him and punched him in the nose, and then handcuffed him to a pole.
Merle spit out blood and looked at me and Rick. "Who the hell are you people?" He yelled.
"Officer Friendly." Rick said sarcastically.
"We get it. You're a cop." Merle said.
"I'm only a man looking for his wife and son." Rick said and pushed Merle.
I walked over and stood on Merle's arm where he got bit. He yelled in pain and I grabbed his face, forcing him to look at me.
"You ever touch me again, I won't make him stop." I growled and made him look at Bud.
I then shook his face and let go of him. I walked over to Bud and praised him. Everyone was looking at me and Rick. Rick then gave T-Dog the keys to the handcuffs and then walked over to me.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
I nodded. "I'm fine. He's not the first." I said.
Rick looked at me concerned but I refused to say anymore. We all decided to regroup on the first floor, and left Merle alone screaming at us.

After awhile of trying to find a way to leave the city, it started feeling impossible. The sewers were blocked and the walkers flooded the streets. It was too dangerous to try to use sidewalks or alleys because of how many walkers we attracted.
I realized we were in a clothing store and decided to find a new outfit. While I was looking around, I saw Rick and Andrea talking about a necklace, and Glenn was sitting down on a bench. I also realized there were walkers at the front door and they were hitting the glass. They saw us and wanted in.
I found a new pair of Levi's and combat boots, and layered up with a black tank top, gray hoodie, and a black vest. I quickly changed into my new outfit, loving the feeling of fresher, cleaner clothes.
Everyone saw my new look and approved. I gave and slight smile and geared myself back up. My bag on my back, rifle slung on my shoulder, and my knife and pistol in their holsters on my belt. As we were all getting ready to regroup, we heard the sound of glass breaking and saw that the walkers hit the first set of doors with rocks. Only one more glass door kept us apart.
"Everyone, get to the roof!" Rick ordered, and no one objected.

~~~~~~~~~~
Back on top of the roof we all gathered around, and tried to come up with a plan. I was looking around and saw a construction site across the street. I saw a van that was in a clear area behind a fence.
"Rick." I said and nodded him over.
I pointed down at the van and Rick nodded in agreement because he knew what I was thinking.
"Construction vehicles always have a spare key." He said.
"That's nice." Glenn said. "But, how do you expect to get down there?"
"I have an idea." Rick said and went back into the building.
~~~~~~~~~~

Rick told us what he needed and we grabbed long coats, gloves, an ax, and... a walker's dead body.
"We have to blend in." Rick said and handed Glenn a coat. "We aren't dead but they are so we need to smell like them."
Rick began chopping up the body, and covering himself in blood and guts. Everyone started gagging and Glenn even threw up from the smell that was now on him.
"Keep chopping." Rick said and handed me the ax.
I drove the ax into the walker a few times before I began to gag. The smell was unbearable and I was grossed out. I chopped one more time and threw the ax to the side. Rick and Glenn prepared themselves to go out there and the rest of them walked up towards the roof.
"What are we gonna do about Merle?" I asked Rick.
He didn't answer. "Just get to the garage door in the back and wait for us there." He said
He and Glenn then left the building, and I walked back up to the roof. I just had to hope that this plan was going to work.

~~~~~~~~~~
It was getting cold and storm clouds were coming in. We kept an eye on Rick and Glenn, and so far their trick seemed to be working. But then, we heard thunder and it began to rain.
"Oh no." I said.
"They're almost there." Andrea said.
"They can make it." T-Dog said.
We all waited in anticipation and watched as they got closer. Then the walkers started noticing what was happening. Rick and Glenn started killing walkers and pushing their way through as the dead smelled the human flesh that was right next to them. Eventually they made it to the fence, jumped it, and started up the vehicle. We watched as they turned around and drove away out of the city.
"Where are they going?" Andrea said.
"They're leaving. They left us for dead man!" T-Dog panicked.
"No. We need to met them at the garage door downstairs. Rick told me that's where they are going." I said and had everyone follow me.
"Wait! You can't leave me here!" Merle yelled at us as we ran by.
He was struggling but couldn't break the handcuffs. I looked at T-Dog and remembered he had the key. We looked at each other and I shrugged at him.
"It's up to you. We don't have a lot of time." I said, and me and Andrea ran downstairs. T-Dog was caught up with us a minute later on the first floor. At that moment, the walkers broke the glass of the second door and began chasing us in the building. We ran towards the back to where the garage door was and knocked on the door. We didn't hear anything on the other side.
"Oh come on." I said and started banging on the door.
I heard a bang coming back and we started rolling the door up, and then saw Rick was on the other side in the van. I tossed Bud in the van, all our bags, and got into the van with everyone else. Rick ran back up to the front seat and began driving away. Just in time too, because the walkers that were chasing us finally caught up to us. I shot a few that were too close and we closed the back door to the van.
We all sat there catching our breath, taking time to process what just happened. Bud rested his head on my leg and I pet him.
"I dropped the damn key." T-Dog said, breaking the silence.
We all looked at each other not knowing what to say.
I just shrugged. "He got what he deserved." I thought. "Where's Glenn?" I then asked.
We then heard a beeping sound that was getting louder. I saw a red sports car pull in front of us and speed down the freeway.
"That's him." Rick said, and we all started laughing.
"Woohoo!" We heard Glenn scream with excitement.
At least someone's having a good day.
